nice sound, the RSV4 definitely beats the other 2 on sound! I as a beemer man like the RSV4 sound more than my S1000RR's .. that would also be the only thing I like more about it

My arm chair opinion if anyone cares .
For those of you who haven't heard a RSV4 (Tuono V4 sounds roughly the same):
And yeah the pipe is ugly, but it sounds good. Fly-by in the second half of the video.
Sure, but the R1 has a lot of design flaws in it (do you really want me to list 'em?) whereas the Aprilia makes no bones at all about the fact that it's a race bike and any complaints you might have of it do not matter in the context of its intended purpose.![]()
I'm loving my "new" 07 R1![]()
Thanks for the infoSee, the 07s aren't bad. Althought that said, the one that I know about had a bad head on it and was replaced with a Cdn SBK spare head (only one they had in Canada, lol) because of it. And my other friend with an 05 had two heads done on warranty and sounded like a bag of hammers when it was crashed at the end of '10, think he just dodged a third replacement.
So keep that in mind.
But still, if you're going to have a R1, there are three to own... 1998, 2001, 2008 and that's about it. All the others have issues or are not the top bike to own.BTW, there were significant changes to the motor for 2008... despite Yamaha's claim that there wasn't much done.
Same friend with the '05 has already had clutch and chain tensioner go in his '10. Known issue with the first 18 months of the crossplane's production. Speaking of chain tensioners, the one in my other friend's 07 was replaced with a manual one this spring for the same reason (but it did last a few seasons).
Thanks for the infoI'll probably replace the chain tesnsioner with a manual one, seeing as the one on my car just let go (no damage thankfully). My R1 only has 13k km's on it, so still pretty fresh

And the percentage of people who are drag or road racers and might actually notice a 10hp difference isss....................... lol
As a race bike that'd be a pretty big hit, but i'm thinking the ape has more room for gains then the bimmer
Too bad it looks like to was pushed off the ugly cliff and hit every rock on the way down.10whp is pretty significant, the cbr125 has only 13hp at the crank, so about 11whp. And let me put it this way:
a human being = 0.5whp and cbr125 = 11whp. so the difference between a cbr125 and you(a human being) is similar to the difference between S1000RR and 1199s.
so in other words: no comparison!
