Condo Security ... Wonder why your bike gets stolen ?

LOL. Did you at least find a creative way to wake him up? :director:

we stood there and waited to see if he would wake up ... i walked up to him and got to within about 3 feet of him and he still was asleep ... snoring actually ... decided to leave him since he looked like a potential pensioner :P

Assuming this is the building on Bay.....anyone ever been at the restaurant/bar upstairs? The steak is over $100....geeeeeez.....no joke.

I heard it's a suit-and-tie sausagefest full of Trump wannabes. I suppose if their alcohol prices are that bad then it would keep the gold diggers out.

~shrug~

Sounds about right. I was there with a group of about 12 people, everyone had a couple drinks, no one ate anything...bill was over $600.

Looks to me like it's a construction site security, not regular building security guards. Regardless, it's funny. :D

What can you expect from someone who gets paid minimum wage? Security guards need to be compensated much better if we are to expect better protection. It's a shame how little they get paid.
what can you expect from someone who agreed to work for minimum wage? To come to work prepared to work and to do their job to the best of their ability.

Who cares if it's a ****** security job, take some pride in your work. After all, his name is attached to the quality of his work.

Why should they be compensated any more if they cant do the original job they were hired to do.

I would steal the plates off a car from that building and then mount it on to my van. You can't stop me!

and from what i've gathered from reading stolen bike threads over the years. it seems to me that thieves generally do use the stolen plates.

i dont know if anyones mentioned it, i just skimmed through responses..

maybe the dudes on Lunch. I sleep all the time on my lunch and breaks.

i feel kinda bad for people that jobs that make them an easy target for people with a camera, Imagine if you had a job where the average person could have a camera trained on you without your knowledge.

im not defending everyone thats ever had a photo of them doing something odd ( likie the postal dude peeing on the fence ) but you dont know the context of every situation......

now, as for stopping a stolen car/bike ...... would you risk injury to stop them... ?

He shouldn't be taking breaks there but inside a break room due to visibility reasons. I think TTC also had this problem with this as well.

I work security and be rest assured i am not going to step in someone's way to stop him from stealing anything. My work is to observe and report not serve and protect :p(work commercial building)

And its very unlikely someone in uniform without handcuff and baton will try that. Even with that for the matter. I get paid minimum wage and i IDGAF. Also we are told not to use any force but call the police. It depends on the kind of work. Condo security with blazer and tie will never touch you. My brother almost lost his job @ Bestbuy as LP(loss prevention)when he chased a man who ran out with a laptop. And you never know what the man is carrying with him. I dont wanna get shot, stabbed, beaten for minimum wage where my blood sucking company will not pay me after 1 month of injury.

Also one is not allowed to sleep in public under any circumstance. I sleep in my room or another room with a bed(yeah we have bed's in our building)

LOL working minimum wage is the employer's way of saying, "if I could pay you less, I would. But it's illegal." -Chris Rock

I never gave a crap about any minimum wage job. Usually just show up to work high as a kite doing the bare minumum so I dont get fired. Somehow, doing so made me manager in 3 months :D. I guess it's all about how the management views you. ie: get your **** together when the boss comes.

As for the security guard sleeping.. they all do it. My brother worked security for years, and there was literally a network among the 10 sites calling each other so they know exactly when the mobile supervisor is gonna drop by. They memorized his route and worked (and slacked off) accordingly. You get what you pay for, and the same goes for hired labor. In the family business we run, as soon as you notice a worker is going above and beyond, you reward him with a bonus of some kind. I'm sure the security guard has NO incentive to work harder than he is in the picture.

Yeah he should definitely be on the leather couch in the fancy security-guard break room, maybe getting a massage or a manicure...

I have pics of our IT guy almost falling back in his seat snoring at his desk. There are pictures of me sprawled out on a roll of bubble wrap. Not sleeping, but would have looked like it if anyone caught a glimpse. I did sleep on the job once when I took someone's overnight shift after my regular shift. When the supervisors showed up the next morning they didn't wake me because they were just glad someone was there to cover the phones.

Who cares, job security is overrated anyways.
