Heres one that JUST happened. Lady in one of those Mercedes B-classes. Doing at least 80 on bloor street, rolled up behind me at a stop light. I was sure she was going to smash into me. Screeched her tires, stopped inches off my back wheel. She then proceeds to ride my rear tire for about 200 feet, peels into the right lane, almost smashes into stopped bus with its emergency triangles out, tries to force me out of my lane. Then she gets back in behind me, screeches her tires, pulls into the left turn lane, and runs a red light at bloor/dundas. I look behind me, and who do i see? Torontos finest. They were LAUGHING in their car, either at the attempted homicide, or the lady running a red light, i have no idea. But they followed ME instead. Why, because im on a bike? (my big intimidating 1980 125cc bike no less...)
Yep, to serve and protect. Except when you actually need them. You have a woman who made at least 3 traffic violations right infront of them, including 2 that could have been potentially life threatening, but they cant be bothered to stop her.
Its nice that the police come for you, but only ONCE have I ever had the police show up when i call 911, and that was when i saw a car get t-boned by a semi truck at highway 7 and rexdale blvd. Took 30 minutes. The ambulance and fire were there in 5. Hell, once i called 911 because my meth addict neighbor was smashing his girlfriends face off the driveway. Again, the cops never showed up. Like i said, i dont even bother anymore because its a waste of my time. Maybe if i saw something incredibly urgent like a guy waving a gun around, i would call. But for regular things? **** it. Whats the point?
