Girls - what do you think of the gear selections?

My GF has the same problem, hates every jacket. Only one she ever actually liked was a Triumph leather, it was tan coloured, 400 bucks and now it's discontinued (shoulda bought it at one of the shows but I was/am a student so $$ is an issue).

I just noticed GP has some good deals on Ixon leathers:

Any one have thoughts on this brand? I think someone above mentioned they have one, Quality?

Gear selection has improved big time. When I started out five years ago, there was nothing. A few red jackets, and in huge sizes. Then came the pink craze, and now I find there is the most selection there ever was. Sizing still sucks, I have all my jackets taken in at the waist.

Ha,ha...if you gals think there is nothing now, think of what it was like for me back in the eighties!! No gloves,no jackets, no boots,no nothing. I had a choice of black or grey or red mens gear. Which as you can imagine fit really really well...

My first race suit has no armour in it, just quilted sewn patches at the shoulders and knees. I still have it. Although, someone stole my Wayne Gardener helmet.

I bought the joe rocket trixie outfit IN PINK,( I wish I had it in black or blue now, oh well) and it is really super comfy. Now of course, you can't find it.

I am having a hard time finding stuff I like this year. A trip to Iron Pony is in the works....

my better half has this icon jacket:

Really easy to find, competitively priced (for leathers), and combined with some nice jeans, has the understated attractiveness you seem to seek.

It seems that the manufacturers just recently noticed the shape of a woman and took it to heart. Unfortunately for most of you the re-engineering of these products came hand in hand with a bunch of pink leather.

Thing that gets me is the price difference. Last year shopping around for a 1 piece it seemed like anything labelled "womens" was $100-200 different from the "mens" suit. Sometimes more $$$ for less protection.

Not to pick on those who wear pink and generally just love the colour, but why does women's gear have so much damn PINK?? Like grown women still have to wear it to identify gender the same way that babies do?? I don't see grown male riders wearing baby blue gear to let the world know that they're a MAN.

Ugh. Need more coffee.

s'actly. I don't often wear pink for everyday wear, why would I want to choose it EVERY time I got on a bike.

There's way more selection now than there was 10 years ago :D

I just picked up this leather jacket @ Kahuna:

It's ok, you can pick on me! I really liked my JR gear ( IN PINK) when I bought a few years ago,and now it is broken in so soft and comfy! But now I do want something more neutral,I like the JR Aura but zing! the price! The black set or the blue that would match my bike.

Hey, if I saw a guy wearing baby blue,HAHAHAHAHAHA.....

There was a chick I saw last year at an undisclosed location wearing the Icon set, the one with the fringed chaps that had the cheesy fake picture of the guns on the legs, with the matching jacket and a hot pink plastic mowhawk........or is that calling the kettle black?

^ Lol.

frekeyguy, I'm just shy of 5'2 with 28' inseam. For pants, I have found very little to fit me length wise. Fortunately, I found these pants:

I believe this is the matching jacket:

I find Scorpion is a nice fit between the larger curvy north american and the super tiny European brands. It seems to fit more like the sizing of regular street clothes. The XS is a little tight waist wise (drinking and junk food does not seem to help...oops) but perfect length wise with work boots or those with a wedge heel. Their line is mostly black and white with some dark blue, beige, etc. mixed in. Some of the Icon stuff is cute...in a magazine. On the street? Not so much.

Shnizz, you know I can't pick on you. Your bike would eat mine for breakfast! :p

I've found that GP Bikes has the best selection of women's gear in the GTA. I've always managed to find stuff that isn't covered in flowers, unicorns or pink there.

Although they do have that stuff if you want it.

Gear for women is so much better now than it was 10 years ago for sure!
