Girls - what do you think of the gear selections?

^ Lol.

frekeyguy, I'm just shy of 5'2 with 28' inseam. For pants, I have found very little to fit me length wise. Fortunately, I found these pants:

I believe this is the matching jacket:

I find Scorpion is a nice fit between the larger curvy north american and the super tiny European brands. It seems to fit more like the sizing of regular street clothes. The XS is a little tight waist wise (drinking and junk food does not seem to help...oops) but perfect length wise with work boots or those with a wedge heel. Their line is mostly black and white with some dark blue, beige, etc. mixed in. Some of the Icon stuff is cute...in a magazine. On the street? Not so much.[/QUOT

Hey, I am buying that set the size, runs ridiculously small. That outfit I am wearing in my pic is an XS for both pieces, but I couldn't even get the Scorpion small over my thighs!

It was terribly demoralizing......

i dont think my other half is looking for that......

i think we are lookking for some serious gear.....nothing with stringy stuff.etc.

like just a regular jacket with good armour like the guys stuff, and good boots.

I have the opposite problem. I love that set you have...I've tried on the jacket and the leather is so soft. But a lot of XS are too big for me in the hips and length. Apparently I'm just a midget boy. *Sigh*. I need a custom tailor on beck and call...but at Wal-Mart prices. Doable, right?

Actually ,not totally impossible!! The lady I used to shorten my Astars siut charged me 50 bucks and she did a sh**load of work on it. Moving zippers, sewing seams ect ect, love her!!!!

Seriously??? Reveal your source!!!! I thought zippers would be nearly impossible to deal with without costing an arm and leg.

All hail the freakishly tall Amazonian women on the board. So happy I'm not the only one.

I'm 5' 11".... Right back at cha! ;)

Yeah....'Powder Blue' :tard:

I found the Scorpion gear not so girly (have the Black and White textile Savannah pants-but they're a little short for me....) http://www.ridersdiscount.com/street-gear/pants-women/67453.php but they definitely make it clear you're a woman. I went with Joe Rocket (White and Grey) 'Cleo' for my textile jacket http://www.ridersdiscount.com/street-gear/jackets-women/33690.php, then I also have an Icon 'Hella' Crossbones leather jacket. http://www.ridersdiscount.com/street-gear/jackets-women/82538.php Totally NOT girly....but damn sexy :D

lol I guess I'm not the only one who is not impressed by the female gear selection. But after reading your posts, I went and bought this
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co...Scorpion-Womens-Elektra-Jacket-Closeouts.aspx

such a good price!!! With taxes and shipping it came up to less than 250US.... My parents are going ****** when they find out I just bought another jacket.... But it looks good, and it's black, and leather!

Bwhahaha I'm so excited.

Riding season has officially begun!!!!

My GF has the same problem, hates every jacket. Only one she ever actually liked was a Triumph leather, it was tan coloured, 400 bucks and now it's discontinued (shoulda bought it at one of the shows but I was/am a student so $$ is an issue).

I just noticed GP has some good deals on Ixon leathers:

Any one have thoughts on this brand? I think someone above mentioned they have one, Quality?

I'm a guy but have 2 ixon products; a full suit and a jacket. I got them when I was living in the UK. They were then newly introduced into the UK market from their base, France. They sponsor quite a few riders in French leagues and are up and coming. Both my suit and jacket are very high quality leather, thicker than most! The only downside would be the liners. The suit has a very simply mesh liner, and the jacket had a decent winter liner but once removed the summer liner was of a non breathable material. The upside is that it traps in heat well in the colder months (as I ride down to -2C), but the summer is brutal in that jacker. It simply doesn't breathe well enough. I also have a Dainese jacket and find their linings in both suit and jackets to be superior at all others out there! But in terms of armour and protection and the quality of leather (and I have put mine through some deep soakings as I got caught in some downpours before), Ixon stand up well in all weather!

All in all I have no problems with Ixon, and have to say, in terms of value for money they rank high in my opinion. I also found them to be of much better quality than any UK brand (Tecnic, Frank Thomas, etc).

Upon returning to Toronto I find the market is flooded with Icon and Joe Rocket to a nauseating degree. It just seems the baggy homeboy look dominates here and many European quality brands just don't make it to the market here.

On a personal note I like Ixon's Euro style a lot...they have a classy look...not like so much of the MMA / heavy metal / baggy homeboy looking stuff here.

Choices are getting better, we have options of looking like power rangers (and not just like the pink one), land pirates and something that I haven't given a name to, kind of a cross between a military dress uniform and yuppy hiking gear (a lot of the non outlandish textile stuff falls into this).

199 different products (though some variations of the same thing) http://www.bikebandit.com/motorcycle-jackets/c/a642306a719307?ps=100&s=4#productlist
there's more out there if we look.

As a female rider, I don't find that there are enough gears out there for women and not enough variety. I don't like wearing anything that screams "Hey I'm a chick, look at me" so I try to stick to anything that's simple and black. It's hard to find something that's my size and fits comfortably and still shows the female figure.

I currently own the Luna 2.0 jacket, in black, but the zipper and liner is pink. It was the most black jacket I could find for a decent price. I'm looking for a leather jacket and I was trying some on in a store in the states and they make me look so manly. It's so hard to find something that I can actually say I "love". I don't want no lame graphics, or girly colours, just something simple and sexy. I was looking at the Dainese leather jacket on their site and it actually looks good, but way out of my price range.

Ladies (and gents), what do you think of the gears that are out on the market for women?

I think Spidi always advertises females and males sidebyside in their ads... check them out.

Hate to bump up such an old thread but I have a question regarding this topic.
My girlfriend and I went to GP Bikes this morning and we where looking at gear, she got a Shoei Qwest and some Dainese gauntlet style gloves.
When it came to jackets she had a maximum budget of 500$, she didn't find anything that she likes, 99% of women's jacket had pink, tribal and real "girly" designs which she was not fond of.
She wanted a plain black, leather jacket and she found a Dainese jacket (Retro) that fit her perfectly and was beautiful btw, but it was a little north of 700$...
The Icon stuff was too much 'bling' for her and she prefers the simple look.
Any suggestions on stores that might have a little more of a selection when it comes to lady leather jackets?

Thanks in advance.

Hate to say it, but GP Bikes was likely your best bet. I was there, a couple of weeks back, and outfitted my niece. She wasn't interested in pink or bling, either, but was quite happy to get a textile jacket rather than leather.

She didn't mind the idea of textile, but it was hard finding one that was simple and plain.
Looks like I'm going to have to take her around a few stores but I was hoping to get some hints from the ladies of GTAM as to what they found and where.
She has a few leather jackets at home but without armour and what not, she might just wear one of those until the January show, hopefully there she'll find something that she'll like.
Would rather not wait though...

Maybe I should of been a little more clear...
I live in Ajax, I don't mind travelling a little (west end for example) but I'm not driving her an hour and a half to go look for a jacket.
Think GTA!

Try Docs Leathers @ 726 Queen Street West. Doc is a famous old school biker and his store is geared more towards the cruiser crowd, so that means less bling, lots of traditional leather there and some textile too, but they also have sporty stuff if that is what you are looking for. They sell new and used jackets and have a nice collection upstairs. Here's a link to their girls leather jackets page. Everything there is under $300 http://www.docsleathers.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=42_56 The website doesn't show everything that is in the store though, i was there a few weeks ago and they have many racing style and armored jackets that are not shown on the site. And while on the topic of Doc, here is a nice story/video Citytv did on him a while back http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/life/money/article/70365--doc-s-leathers-a-toronto-tradition
