z1000 or r1?

they're both awesome bikes!

i rode both.. what am i saying, i actually have a z1000

they're very strong bikes and they handle amazing and it doesn't feel like a train, to me at least.. its very comfortable for the long rides and cheap insurance is another plus.. lots of mods can be done to them to change the handling (clip on handle bars, suspension) if u get bored of the riding position, also a lot of interchangeable parts could be used from the zx6 and zx9 and most kawi bikes.. they're very simple to work on due to the fact they are naked bikes if you cared about that and they're also unique, a lot of ppl have r1's be different :p

75,000km and runs better than new, with the right upgrades you can have a bike that is good to ride every where. God I love her lol

I demod a '10 Z1 last year for a bit. I fell in love with it. It has issues with staying on two wheels and loves to be spanked regularly. Idiggit.

R1's....meh. They're sexy....but i'd take a Z for a streetbike all year long. hands down, wheel up!

nice Z mas.

here is mine so far...jumped right in to the mods.

made a plate bracket, got an integrated light. cut the exhaust stagger and removed baffles. (kept cat) sounds amazing!
and gave her a bath, prob added 20hp :)

got caught riding it home in that mini snow storm friday. fun fun fun

next zx6 fork swap, rear shock upgrade...then no more mods i promised myself..aside from some odd visual ones.

Im an R1 guy full throttle... but always likes the Z1000, nbow I am currently bikeless and looking for my next bike and am almost 90% sure it will be the Z after all this talk.
You guys have convinced me!! Now to look stateside for the best deal!

Don't stop lol

I recommend the following:

- Renthal ultra low handle bar
- bar-end mirrors (gotta get rid of the mickey mouse factory)
- ZX6R front forks/calipers (will need front fender as well)
- ZX19R Radial Master Cylinder
- ZX6R rear shock
- SS brake lines.
- Raise the *** end a little

In terms of power modification you won't need any, she does good for the street, but handling/stopping after these mods it is night and day.

$#%#$ snow storm outside and I am thinking about riding, damn you Alberta.

Z19R... that must be a literal rocketship

seems like your heart is really in the z1000, go with your gut

I still say go to Corsa Meccanica and check out that sweet Tuono Factory they have sitting on the floor. More power than a z1000 in a v-twin package and a top shelf suspension.

I sent you a pm about a superduke. You wont find others for sale. As for Speed Triple, gpbikes have a few.
