I found that in corner 2 at TMP or corner 8 at 'bogie I'd wait until I was done braking through the corner before downshifting. The amount of mental effort it frees up to focus on braking was just irresistible. But this is coming from someone who still has to think about his downshifts, whereas experienced riders should be able to do it instinctively, I think.
