Ok, I am looking for 2 bluetooth helmet kits.

I don't care to connect to other ppl.
Looking to simply stream music and maybe listen to GPS info.

Any decent EBAY units?

thx

Last year I bought the Cardo Scala QZ, it's your basic headset. Nothing fancy. If you're looking for a simple set up with bluetooth capabilities and the ability to listen to music then this is it. It's one of the cheaper options out there.

The speakers aren't the best though, but you pay for what you get. They do get pretty loud and at half volume they drown out any ambient noise (unless you have a loud pipe haha) The microphone is pretty good too, I haven't had any complaints when talking to people even on windy days and on the highway.

When you have your GPS running the unit will lower the music so you can hear the directions, so thats a nice feature. It also has auto-volume, so the audio increases if it detects a lot of wind noise or ambient sound ( you can switch this feature off).

It also has voice command capabilities so that you don't have to take your hands off the handle bars to answer a phone call. I found this feature to be useless at time, sometimes I would have to scream into the microphone for the system to recognize any commands. (again this is an optional feature you can switch off)

the unit itself is fairly simple to operate. It has two big buttons on the side for easy accessibility with gloves and pairing up different phones is pretty simple.

if you're just looking for a simple headset then I would give it a 8/10. It's worked great for me since I bought it and the price is manageable. Installation is a breeze, you have the option of either clamping it onto your helmet or attaching it with a sticky mount if your helmet doesn't work with the clamp. You get a fair amount of wire length for the microphone and the speakers.

I bought mine at royal distributing for $129.99 but that was on special.

Hope this helps!

Just checked the royal distributing website and they have the QZ for $119.99

I use the 20S. Before this I had nothing, so I can't compare to others, but I love it. I can't imagine riding without it anymore. The sound is really very good. I wasn't expecting such great results from helmet speakers. Does nothing for wind noise though. Which is kind of annoying..

Go with Sena 10s or 20s. Can't go wrong. They are awesome and you can buy them in pairs. Paired with iPhone & using Siri it's crazy the amount of things you can do with vocal cmd. Get her to play music you want...ask her to drive you places. Read your txt msg...send txt msg...call people...etc.

Its a Sena.. Seems like the most common brand. I don't usually connect with other riders so I can do my own thing. I have my own special taste in music that isn't shared vastly.. lol

I have a Sena SMH-10R for listening to GPS instructios and asking Siri what time it is. Music sounds like crap, wouldn't recommend it for that purpose.

Out of the three that I've owned, Scala G4, UClear HBC200, and Sena 20S, 20S by a mile. The other two don't even measure on the radar to how good the 20S is. Really worth the price premium.

If all you want is to listen to music and GPS directions, a pair of earphones with Comply foam tips are fantastic. You get much better sound quality than an in helmet speaker system, and the Comply tips act as earplugs to block out the noise.

fiancé and I use the Sena SMH5...we paid $225 for the pair and they work great...we can talk while riding, listen to our music (even share it if we want), make and receive calls from it quite easily too...I've had a few conversations on it and most people tell me they can't tell i'm out on the bike...we love them...

If you don't care about inter-rider communication and only want to listen to music and your GPS, why not just get a plain jane set of Bluetooth earbuds?

Canada Computers has these for $40. I have 2 pairs. They're awesome.

I have a set too... they work okay but I am not overly impressed with the sound quality (at least not for the pair I have, there are likely much better out there).

So... I just bought this: http://www.amazon.ca/Aukey-Portable...ie=UTF8&qid=1455938722&sr=1-16&keywords=aukey

Same concept, but you can use any (non BT) headphones you like and just run the wire and this thing into a pocket.

I don't like earbuds when I ride. They fall off when I get my helmet on or 25 minute later one slip and it becomes mono. I'd rather have speakers inside my helmet even if it's not home stereo quality. With a Sena you can change music or adjust volume easy while riding and I have found it isn't the case with regular earbuds unless you have your phone mounted on handlebar...

A Balacalva or similar type of head covering helps keep them in place.

I use Scala Q3 no issues with volume even with my foam ear plugs. The AGC automatic audio gain works well for me.

Can the Scala's be paired to non-Scala headsets? I'm in the market for one as well but need to communicate to Sena/etc.
