why are all the new bikes so ugly?!

Do discrespect to anyone that has a new bike but I firmly beleive that the mid 2000 model bikes were the sexiest. I'm just not feeling a lot the new bikes.

These exhausts keep getting uglier and uglier. IMO - the K6/K& gsxr has the best looking exhaust of all times

Looks like I'll be keeping my bike for awhile.

Personally I think the Gixxer 600 looks sweet.

The R6 is my least favourite with the "stinger" type tail that looks like it'll snap if any girl bigger than a twig sits on it...And of course I'm sure we can all agree that the CBR1000 is pug fugly ugly.
 
Can only see 10% of the bike while riding, the rest isn't something I worry about.
 
They are ugly because you dont own them, and everyone thinks their bike is the best looking bike obviously. So just keep your bike, and love it to death

Those are all different bikes? They look the same to me :D

I like the GSXR but think that pipe is hideous and they should stick to the smaller pipes or go directly under the seat out the tail.
 
the only thing with new bikes i am not keen on is the exhausts....i think the sharp lines on most new bikes make them look pretty cool....but i still prefer my srad :)

It all has to do with the increased regulations on polution. Hard to fit all the the emissions stuff and make it sleek and compact. I personally think a lot of the bike manufacturers have done a great job of keeping their bikes sharp given the massive emmissions gear requirements. I am a huge fan of the underslung exhaust the Buell started years ago. Great way to centralize the mass and hide the large cats.

I know my bike isn't the best looking. I like being the best looking part of my bike. lol Its also my theft defense plan. No one steals ghetto looking bikes. lol
 
yeah yeah, I know I opened up a can of worms. The gsxr seems the most tolerable to me but there are not many bikes that makes me want to go out and have to buy it these days.

And yes the bmw s1000rr is sexy and a lot of the ducs are sexy but I'm referring to the usual suspects.
 
In general modern design seems to be moving away from flowing lines to a more angular disjointed look. I think most modern sportbikes fall into this (with exceptions of course). Many cars do as well (think about the recent horrid looking BMWs, starting with the 7 series).

Of course to others the current design must be beautiful, otherwise they wouldn't be selling!

I have field tested this, don't worry the r6 is fat chick compatible.

lol, My gsxr has a small tail section too. My thick ex's hated it. They wore the seats as thongs. The tails are really meant for tiny girls now.
 
I agree...i think all the bikes form the mid 2000s were the sexiest

I dont see myself ever purchasing any bike past 2006...looks like they got beat with an ugly stick :laughing8:
 
Have to agree with the 04-06 r1, that was a great looking bike the new r1s not so much imo.

The 05/06 636 was much better then the new kawi's.. The new bikes generally look very small now, especially the CBRs, would like a bit more fairings on the newer SS bikes.
