Re: sweet

For the last several months, T-Mobile has been talking about how it wants the iPhone. Now, after watching nearly a million customers jump ship last quarter, it’s looking like T-Mobile needs the iPhone.
During its earnings call, for the holiday quarter, T-Mobile cited ‘not carrying the iPhone’ as a major factor in its recent poor performance. But the carrier is looking to change that as soon as possible…
Electronista reports:
“T-Mobile’s CTO Neville Ray used a call discussing the company’s latest results to single out the iPhone as an objective. At least the switch to 1,900MHz for HSPA+ was highlighted as focusing on Apple. While he wouldn’t say if that involved the LTE network as well, it was apparent the carrier was making changes to potentially court an iPhone launch.”
The report went on to say that T-Mobile mentioned Apple’s handset a full 7 times during its earnings call. The carrier obviously sees the iPhone as something necessary to its survival. Hey, it might’ve saved Sprint.
Even if T-Mobile can’t get Apple on board, making its network fully iPhone compatible would serve it well. The carrier is currently tracking more than one million unlocked iPhone users, and could see many more if features like 3G data and MMS worked properly.

[h=1]Tim Cook says Apple’s working on new products that “will blow our minds”[/h]
tim-cook-presenting.jpg

Apple hosted its annual shareholder’s meeting yesterday in Cupertino, California. This marked the first time that Tim Cook addressed the company’s board and its investors as Apple’s CEO.
Topics of the meeting ranged anywhere from Apple’s record-breaking quarterlast year, to its relationship with Facebook. Those who attended the affair described Cook as witty, knowledgeable, and passionate as he talked about Apple’s future…
“You can be assured we are working as hard as ever this year to deliver an incredible year and some products that will blow your mind.”
“Products that will blow your mind.” At first glance, this obviously sounds like a CEO selling his company. But if we take it at face value, the phrase has far more meaning.
When was the last time Apple unveiled something that blew your mind? I meanreally blew your mind. Was it last year, with the iPhone 4S? No. Don’t get me wrong, Siri is cool and all. But it’s not mind-blowing. So the iPad 2 then? No. It was essentially the same thing as the original iPad, but thinner.
No, the last time that an Apple product really blew our minds (and this is clearly debatable) was the iPad — back in 2010. With its 10″ multitouch display, 10 hour battery life and seemingly endless array of possible uses, the iPad was definitely a game-changer.
With that in mind, the fact that Tim Cook says that Apple has products coming out this year that will blow our minds has us salivating. Is he talking about theiPad 3? Is the next iPhone really going to be that awesome? Will we finally see the rumored Apple television?
The world has been waiting to see if Apple can continue to churn out hit products now that Steve Jobs is no longer at the helm. Perhaps this is the year we start finding that out.

Apple’s iOS and Mac integration with Twitter is a relatively new thing, and one that has had impressive results for the social network with reports of a 25% increase in sign-upscoming after the release of iOS 5. While Twitter is currently the only social network tied into iOS, that may not always be the case.During a shareholder’s meeting today, Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted that the company could become closer to Twitter’s largest rivals, Facebook, and that he has personally always thought the two could work more closely. The news will come as music to the ears of Mark Zuckerberg and his band of cronies, with any link to Apple being a veritable gold mine these days…During the meeting Cook said that integrating Twitter into iOS 5 had been great for the social network, alluding to that 25% increase in sign-ups, and that it also benefited Apple’s own users. Bringing Facebook into the fold could only benefit those same users even further.
“We do a lot with them, our users use Facebook an enormous amount. I’ve always thought the two companies could do more together.”
References to Facebook have been found in various pre-release versions of iOS all the way back to iOS 4.0, though the final shipping product has never sported the feature. Apple did briefly tie Facebook into its Ping music network, though that soon ended after Facebook grew upset at the lack of a deal between the two sides.Bringing Facebook integration to iOS is something of a no-brainer, and with the largest social network already tightly integrated into both Android and Windows Phone, it is only a matter of time before iOS follows suit.

Apple is the only company, with enough money to buy Apple.

I want you to play fair, you must admit that you have an Apple device, when you do get one. Even if it is years from now.

I was a Honda dude(still somewhat, I rock an Acura MDX), but now I prefer Suzuki.

The only hate I have, I don't want to own no American car....I would buy any OS, any gadget, etc....cause I'm down for anything, once I like it.

Apple is a brand of products, I see Win!!!!
Nope, I will admit my fiance has a mac and an Iphone, i get agrevated when i use her Mac (i know it takes time to get used to) but why can't i not do CTRL C to copy and Control V to paste, seriously, and there is no right button click functionality, that kind of small stuff just drives me nuts. I played with her Iphone lots when she got it, honestly I am not impresed.

I was a bigggggg Kawi guy, now I ride a GSXR 750 because it's better than my Zx6r, i adapt when it makes sense, not jsut because is what everyone else does.

instead of CTRL..use command(first button next to space, on both sides)....Command X-C-V = Cut, Copy and Paste.

Command sounds better than control in my opinion.

For mouse, you gotta configure it in system preferences.

i recommend you getting a trackpad, its awesomer to use, don't have to move mouse around, it have way more touch gestures(4 fingers, 3 fingers, pinch).

as you can see, more options in image below(Lion)...

Did you get Lion?

Do you wanna install windows on there?

although i have a Macbook, i still bought an Extra Keyboard and Trackpad(for when i wanna connect Mac to LCD, and have control from the couch), that will be a thing of the past, with Airplay Mirroring coming this summer to Mac. Display anything on your MAC screen to an LCD with an Apple TV connected to it, WIRELESSLY!!!!

The preview is available right now, too lazy to install.

iMessage available right now on Mac.

Command C and Command V will copy and past, just use Command instead of Control. Assuming it's a trackpad/magic mouse, two finger tap is a right click. Or Control and click is right click as well.

Used to be an exclusively windows user for twelve years, it is a little hard to switch over once you're so accustomed to the windows shortcuts. After a couple months though, I found it much easier to use than my Windows machine.

Thanks poser and regder, that was helpful. I hardly ever use it since I mostly use my pad.

i too will never own an apple product. however, the women in my family do.

any recommendations for a free, effective anti-virus and/or spyware/firewall product to use on my oldest daughter's mbp?

i did a quick search on download.com, and none of the products seem to have generally good reviews

While viruses do exist for OS-X, they're pretty rare and mostly not hugely compromising. Personally, I don't run an anti-virus on my Mac and I don't know anyone that does either
