Hey guys, just wondering how many of you are running these tires on your bikes and how you like them? I'll be putting a set on my GSXR 750 this week.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Whether it's good or bad

Old tech, slippery on cold or wet surfaces, decent stick on the edges. But all the same, not as bad as it sounds...

Love em on my 250, on my 2nd set now, i got about 13-14k out of my last set. I can see how a bigger bike can wear through these pretty quickly. If I had a bigger bike, I'd use sport touring tires instead, likely the Michelin PR2s or PR3s. They just make more sense here in Ontario.

Thanks for the replies, I've got michelins on the bike right now and I find them to be real sloppy for atleast the first 15mins of riding before they're all warm N they're horrible in wet situations, my ride to work is like 10mins. By the time the tires are all warm I'm already there.
As for the longevity of the tires, once I can get atleast 4k outta them I'll be happy. Just want something that's ready to ride when I am.
Getting them installed tomorrow, will give a follow up on how they perform.
Thanks again for the replies!

They were freshly installed on the bike when I bought it.
Personally, I find they grip real well once they're warmed up, the 401 on ramp from my house is about 5 minutes away and I have no problems leaning the bike over once I get there...
I have ridden in the rain once or twice and find them decent, haven't had any mishaps. I put 6500 Klm's on them so far and they have a lot of tread life left. I would buy them again, but I like to try different things...
I was very close to ordering Bridgestone's bt 003's for 263$/set but decided against it after reading some reviews...
You should get way more than 4,000 Klm's... it's a great tire.

I've put about 10k on mine, and don't have any complaints. They were fine when I was riding in the rain multiple times, and they gripped well when doing the twisties. No chicken strips to be seen on my BT-016 :D

LoL... you sure?

I really like the tires for the price been through 2 sets this year on my busa getting an average of 5k per set (hard riding). Haven't done much wet weather riding (the little bit I did had no issues)

Great tire for the occasional track day.

Speaking of tires, anyone know where I can buy a new rear tire for my 08 GSX-R and have it installed for a decent price (I'm located in Scarborough).

Order from Pete's Superbikes and get it done at Heritage Auto. Pete's ships directly there if you'd like. not too far, Keele+401 area. Lotsa reviews on this site.

I love these tires on my 250 as well. just did ~2000km on a set over the weekend, and had no problems in the wet on the way back at all. great grip in the corners, very good feel to them i think.

Does heritage auto have a website/number? I googled it but there are too many results around the name 'heritage auto'.

Does Heritage auto accept tires from pete on your behalf, and just install the tire when you show up?

edit: or is there anyone on the boards that could replace a back tire for a fee?

i cant wait to get em on tomorrow...my ride this morning was horrible...roads were pretty damp and cold which didnt make it any better...but even after 15 mins of riding i still felt the rear tire slippin away around turns..have heard a lot of good and some bad, guess ill just have to wait and see..thanks again for all the info.

Used them on my 1198 for the last year and love them, great in rain and shine, never let me down, plenty of feel on the street, that's been my experience anyway.

Had a set on my bike and no complaints whatsoever. Got great mileage out of them.

Then I tried something different!

Don't mean to thread jack but just about to order rear tire from Pete's.

Can someone recommend a rear tire for 2008 Suzuki GSX-R. I don't do any track days, use the bike strictly for commuting, don't do any crazy stunting or anything. Looking for long lasting, fairly sticky, good in cold/rain tire.

Also I only need a rear tire (have about 14k on bike- tires never been replaced), but should I just order a front tire as well?

Why not get the bt-016's?
Personally, I like to have both tires matching. Although, some will dispute this, it's entirely up to you!
