Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

I didn't end up getting out....went out for Mandarin for lunch with my sister and BIL and promptly came home feeling really unwell for 4-5 hours. By the time things had passed, the riding window had closed. 😩

I heard lots of bikes out though.

Next Wednesday is looking nice again. 90% of the snow should be melted by then. I'm still not tempting fate by putting the snowblower away or changing the cars to the summer tires yet though.
long forecast showed 2 more snow days in april. works for me, i don't have to pull the trigger on new summers yet!

Got out for a couple of hours today. Doubled the mileage on the Rally!

Still under break-in so the soft rev limiter in 6th gear @ 6000 rpms = 135 km/h. 😭

Lots of melt from the mountains, still can't venture too far up without hitting the snow line.

Thought about going for a ride, but the weather in Porcupine went from +3 to -15 inside 4 hours today.

Pulling into the driveway at 5 today…

It was a beautiful day today! I only did a little round the block of just over 300 km (Port Perry to Bewdley to Cambellford, to Cobourg to Port hope and mainly back roads to home.) Most of the time the temperature hovered around 19c with one time it hit 21c. Beautiful riding weather! Saw lots of other bikes!

Making my way up all the hills surrounding us in the valley to see exactly where the snowlines are this time of year.

This one looks promising. Not too much snow heading up to the lookout:

Got all my break-in miles done this week! Time for some longer trips! :D

Just when we all hoped we were out of the woods on the road salt front, at least....here we go again, ice storm starting Friday night and carrying right into Monday morning apparently.

I'm sure the road salt will be getting thrown down hot and heavy.

The southern edge of the storm so far as ice vs rain is still moving around, so who knows what we'll get here in the city.

Guess I'll charge the car to 100% Friday evening, if the power goes out we can use it for backup to keep the important stuff like the furnace, tv, and internet going lol.

Fingers crossed for rain to wash the salt off. According to the weather network

Nothing in daHood, but weekend looks to be a raining shtstorm. Next 2 weeks look like crap, back to hibernating.

This is the time of year where I really, really really really start to run out of patience for winter.
