Did 60 minutes on my Talaria yesterday. My fitbit automatically detected and recorded it as "mountain biking" which it counts as an "exercise", so I was like, "well, I guess that means I don't actually have to exercise today" so I didn't. One of the most underrated parts of the whole ride.
Got my first 2,000 km for 2024 on the way home from work last night. Saw an oncoming bike on Bloomimgton. They saw me before I saw them (it was after dark) so I don't know what bike.
Didn't ride today because of the transition to cold weather might cause snow or ice.

Sorry, I have been sick and buried with work. Just saw this message. I guess it's too late nowI meant the Tusk wind blockers to see how they would work with your set up and gloves you now use.
I will be in the Scarborough area on Family Day and can swing by. Are you north or south of 401 on Erin Mills. Sorry the west end is still a mystery to me.

Temperature is dropping tonight like it's nobody's business. It's dropped 5 degrees in the 30 minutes I was driving home from work.
I used Hippo Hands back in the late 60s/early 70s effectively when I rode all year. The Oxford version works very well.

Yeah, I was out BBQ'ing dinner and it went from pleasant to "WTF" inside 20 minutes here.
-17 tonight. WTF indeed.
And it looks like next weeks rumoured heatwave isn't materializing now either, unless you count 7c or something on Monday.

Yea. I was joking with my colleagues yesterday that the temps have not been double-digit negative this year because the motorcycle Gods want me to ride through the winter. I shouldn't have done that. -virtual facepalm-
Took the Vulcan to it's new owner this afternoon. Half an hour at -5c, broke out my full face helmet, heated grips on 11, winter gauntlets, heated vest also on 11, heavy jacket with liner of course, and a sweatshirt, well, I was surprisingly warm. My riding boots which I'd forgot to bring inside this morning and were still sitting at what felt like around -15 when I put them on, not so much. I'm still trying to get my feet warmed up again lol.
I recall riding out for dinner in 2015 on New Years Eve. - pretty sure I rode every month that year.

I never did solve the cold feet problem .....rest of me was fine to zero or slightly below but feet always got cold.
Now it's keeping the rain out of the tops of my boots.
Always something when out in the elements.

Was a little chili yesterday. Took out one of the old girls for an afternoon run to Port Perry and back (approx 100km). Counted 6 bikes, all cruisers, during the round trip, plus me on my old school ADV.
I think I'll forever be in Vtom's shadow, I'm up to 900KM since Christmas day.
