Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2020 Edition)

yes it is very cool, there's ice on the beaver ponds.
Frost in the mud too, watch out for that.

Almost 300km down through Niagara and back on Friday.
Long Johns and a hoodie under regular gear. 5 degrees when we left, warmed up to 10, then back down to 6 when we got back.
Chilly but worth it to get out in November. Fingers crossed for another ride or two.

Got caught in the rain with my leathers on Friday evening without my gortex/winter jacket maybe 15 mins from home.
Bruuuuuuuuuuutal.
Just a friendly reminder to folks that want to partake in near-zero temps:
Great gortex shell, mid layer with a puffy jacket of some sort, and then some tight fitting base layer (stuff like dri-fit) make an overall pleasant experience.

I do need a new piinlock though.. my 3y/o insert has seen better days. Made the mistake of stuffing gloves in them on an oversea's flight last year.
Dreading the upcoming day where I decide enough is enough, and do the end of season oil change and park it.

Happy riding all, and LMK if you run into troubles in the 404/401 area, I didn't partake in many group rides this year and still have a healthy quota of CAA Premium tows!

-5c this morning riding to work. Coldest I've ever ridden in 2 years. I need warmer gloves. Wind busters and heated grips aren't working. Fingers cold. Ughh.

I've found heated grips, bar muffs and regular gloves to be the best combination. Heavy gloves insulate your fingers from the heated grips as well as the cold

well the air temperature is always far colder when riding, so i always subtract 5 from the forecasted temp.

Just for the record, Air temperature is the same at 100 KPH (or 10000 KPH) as it is at 50 KPH. ;)

It's how much faster it draws heat away from objects (including you) that makes it *feel* colder with the windchill taken into consideration.
