Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2019 Edition)

I didn't change my oil before putting bike away.
...

Doesn't really matter unless it needed an oil change.

If it is time for an oil change the best thing you can do for the bike is go for a decent ride to get everything nicely warmed up to operating temperature (ie sitting there idling isn't the best thing to do) and change the oil when you are done riding.

I went out after all today, when that sun came out I just need to get out there. Just a quick trip. I was riding around north Pickering and some light flurries started up, so I head back south. Still nice to be out for a scoot.

The ice rides a lot better today, hard enough for studs to grip, snow conditions still suck.

.... perfect maple syrup making weather!

Hmmm humming and hawing about riding today. That wind isn't making it feel to nice. Tomorrow might be the better day now.

My trees are running... got about 100 gallons of sap to boil off this weekend!

thats about one chocolate bar sized chunk of maple candy :(y) and a lot of boiling.

today a 10 minute walk in the woods takes 40 minutes because it's so slippery
and the wind is dropping a lot of dead fall, dog almost got taken out.

I have a few types of maples, the silver maples need 50l of sap to make a l of syrup, the Norways about 35. From my 4 tapped trees I get about 10l of syrup each season. I could make more but I don't have the gear to boil any more sap -- it starts to ferment after a few days.

6 Degrees tomorrow and sunny. I'd ride in that....but sounds like it's going to be windy AF. That lessens my interest.

Will probably still go somewhere though regardless.

Went out today to pick up the new top case, post office guys thought I was crazy walking in with a helmet and picking up a box 2x3 feet. Quick install, left them the boxes. Windy but better than nothing. Also added an adjustor to my screen. Front kinda looks hideous now but damn it helps a lot. Been avoiding highways because of the buffeting but I'm all set now!

You should just tell us the days you’re not riding Tom

Actually, I take that back...we’d never hear from you

Well I didn't ride the last week of February since i had a wicked cold... :)

Went out for a run this afternoon, got sick of all this CV-19 talk and isolation. Went downtown through the city, just to see. Took Lakehshore and buzzed around the Ex, then straight up Yonge st. I would say pretty normal for March break, so a bit quieter.
Felt great, just a bit cooler then I like. Saw a guy on a Goldwing, blasting Maroon 5  , and a couple on Bayview on a Indian.

Hope some of you got out today! Beautiful day! Did a little loop Port Perry, Orangeville, Blue Mountain, Wasaga Beach, Orillian back home. A bit over 400 km. Perfectly clear sky for most of it, temperature around -2. I was mainly on main roads and all were in good shape. (Was on 507 last Sunday. Southern third was in great shap, middle was very bumpy, top third had a fair amount of sand off the car tracks. Not much fun.)
