Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2018 Edition)

I plan to ride as I usually do. To the end of October and beyond as long as the night temps stay above 0C or thereabouts. It's been a fantastic summer for riding this year. I only got about 11,000kms in because I was too busy, or my commuter was under repair, or both. I really loved the ride up through Haliburton to Renfrew, and the daily commute weather was unequalled this year, really made my day every day. A great summer to remember. Hoping for same this fall.

I ride until the salt comes. Might ride a bit more if the salt gets washed away.

Rode today in the rain, kinda crappy and cold but I figure it will get me ready for colder weather.

Still riding and will be until the salt/snow. My buddies have all chickened out last weekend. I rode all day in the cold and rain up north. I love the challenge of wet roads. Now to clean up my bike for next weekend.

Renovo PA beckons ....

Leave Sunday for a couple of days.

:D

Nice ride in this morning! Briefly +1 but most of the ride a balmy +3 or +4.

Light frost on some rooftops and a few of the fields.

..Tom

Bit chilly this morning. Didn't see frost, but it was down to 2c in a few dips.

Making me feel better about not getting the CB500x this morning.

But got it now and the sun is out at the Forks .....

See if my jet lag allows buggering off to Pennsylvania tomorrow morning.

If you don't head south, how about a romp through the Haliburton Highlands on Monday? Colours ought to be great, and traffic low.

Yeah but traffic coming home across Toronto will be insane and I seriously fade in the afternoon with the jet lag ....thanks for invite tho.

Rode on Friday to a friends funeral in Port Perry, he was an avid rider and had asked for as many bikes as possible to show up for the procession. I think we ended up with somewhere in the range of 60-80 of us in the end. It was a good turnout, he would have been proud.

It was brisk though.

Kind of crappy to have a cold wet weekend so far...and then boom, an awesome warm work week. And cold again next weekend.

CAreful out there ...

Fog advisory in effect for:

Burlington - Oakville
Caledon
Halton Hills - Milton
Mississauga - Brampton
Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.

Areas of fog have developed across the region, and may become quite dense at times tonight. Visibility of 100 to 200 metres in dense fog is expected in many localities tonight then into Tuesday morning.

The morning commute to work Tuesday may be affected by the dense fog.

The fog will slowly lift later Tuesday morning as a stubbornly slow warm front finally moves through to the north of the area.

Got a taste of this yesterday and too many idjits without their main lights turned on ....

Yesterday was fantastic out there hope you all got out.

Yeah got a couple of short rides in ....noon ( too bloody hot ) and around midnight to see how the lights were ( lovely ).
Heading out soon today

Rough day on the way home yesterday. Battery was dead at the office. Luckily, my boss was walking by and gave me a bump start. Riding home directly into the sun around 6pm, glare gave me a headache, even with the peaked visor. Got rear ended by car - just a bump, still... :angry1: just glad to make it home on the Scrambler. Wouldn't start this morning (battery), so switched to the Hypermotard for this morning's commute. Low beam not working... :( managed with running lights and high beam on occasion - will replace bulb tonight.

Seeing lots of riders out the last couple of days though. Ride safe everyone.

I still think this thread is too early. I driven the car to work for months and I'm not really looking forward to it. I'll probably keep on into December
