Yes, no tickets for me, even insurance assigned me zero blame based on police report.
Good news, GWS.

Was riding yesterday, was such a nice day. Then got taken out by a suv at 7pm. Broken collarbone, and bike is more than likely totalled. Keep riding but stay safe.
The winshield was broken with shoulder, it looks like helmet only touched the pavement when i face planted on passenger side, theres only a scuff on the helmet chinbar, no other marks. the visor broke off so no telltale marks to see, modular helmet did not pop open.Ouch! I did my collarbone 3 years ago in a freak snowstorm right around this time. The alignment was offset more than the width of the bone. Emergency sent me home in a sling. I booked myself into the fracture clinic, and as soon as they saw it, they had me in surgery the next day. I have a nice plate and a set of screws to show for it. Range of motion and strength is normal, and I barely feel the plate. If you have a choice, get the surgery. Much better than letting it heal out of alignment.
Btw, is that a helmet-shaped indentation in the front windshield? Get your neck and back checked out. Don't brush it off now only to find problems later when insurance might not cover it.
Glad it wasn't worse. GWS!
No official word from insurance yet, just my guess its totalled. I was offered a rental vehicle, cant drive and dont need it. I'll ask about helmet replacement.Ouch! sorry to hear that!
Curious, when you say more than likely totalled, is that your call or somebody else's ?
... naturally, because it's a motorcycle you are not entitled to rent a motorcycle until yours is repaired or replaced, whereas the other guy probably already has a rental SUV by now, but based on the damage to their windshield you must be in the market for a brand new helmet, yes? Do you get to replace that immediately with one of your choice, or how does that work?

Not so, cold reduces tire grip but it doesn't hurt tires. Your tires wear less when it's cold.... I heard that riding on cold roads is bad for the tires (confirm?). ...
I have to wear a balaclava in my Bell Star... too much air going through from under...but that also means 0 fogging, except my own glasses when im at a standstill at the beginning of the ride.Yup....

Slightly off topic but I've been VERY impressed in cold weather with Schuberth C3 I scored used ...fogging is simply absent and the helmet is warm.
If you are looking to replace through I can offer a thumbs up for them and getting one through insurance a whole lot better
I still don't think they are worth $900 but at $300 used I'm pleased with the purchase ....more so this cold weather stretch ....warm head and no fog.
Its a great cold weather helmet, can be stifling in hot weather due to how well it seals around neck.Yup....

Was out today for a quick run. The sun popped out for a little bit, which was nice. But can't complain for December when I would think we would have some snow. Also a new rider just trying to make the most of my short first season. Might not really have to put the bike to bed if this keeps up around the GTA.
truly magical...Yeah I was in the same boat my first year, bought the bike in late september, by late october it was too cold
This was before I learned that a warm core = warm body.

I was a little underdressed for the commute this morning. Still worth it though. The darkness is probably the single biggest hazard right now
