Where's Wingboy?

@Wingboy is that rig going to see salt and slush? Would be cool (no pun intended) if you could ride year round. I've been pouring over old CVMG magazines and I'm surprised how often they mention a guy showing up to winter meetings in a Ural.
Yes. The ACF50 is going on this week. No plans on touring. Just ripping around locally.

Awesome! Being able to ride in winter would be the number one reason I'd be willing to give up leaning into curves.
Winter camping with the rig full of gear like above - Count me in.

Although a Ural would be cool, the whole point of riding a bike is leaning into turns. Without that, I'd be out...

But for a second bike?

And it makes sense for Rick. If I was older, and was trying to hook a lady friend on riding, then for sure.

I get the leaning but I think the sidecar goes beyond that to a whole different level

Very true. When you go to a sidecar rig, you throw everything you know about riding out the window. It's a very refreshing experience.
I still like the other bikes in my garage.

Is flying the sidecar stunting?
Legally? No idea. I have taken it to an empty lot to practice. It's actually easier than wheelies on 2. It comes up a little on most right turns but never with B in there.

We are on Manitoulin island for a few days. Ferry crossing was interesting. Spent the time with a retired opp and his buddy, retired rcmp (on yamahas). Lots of chit chat.i asked them what thier most interesting case was in there career. They laughed and said."We ran the Bernardo investigation until the St Catherine's cops f'd it up. Yikes!
Staying at a very quiet lodge. Peaceful.

Packing the Rav tonite for a week up at a camp on a back part of Onaping Lake. Water access only. No signal. Really need to get away from stuff. Sue passed on March 31 22 and I'm still dealing with lawyers and estate stuff.
Taking my fly rod.

I hear you, i'm finally in the end game of my own estate shenanigans. Enjoy!

Wow, three years. This time three years ago, i had finally found a hospice for Sue. She lasted till the 31st. Grief is tough. Some people have a very difficult time with it and stumble with thier words.
Someone i hadn't seen in a long time said to me a few days ago "she's in a better place". No, I'm very sure she would rather have lived.
This spring I'm not going on a 2 month ride. I'm still going up to Ragged Falls to say hello to her ashes at the end of the month.
B and i fly out today for a getaway in Costa Rica. Maybe it will be a bit of a distraction.
By coincidence i have become quite close to people who have also dealt with grief. We help each other.
I'll love Sue forever. Pura Vida!FB_IMG_1724113703672.jpg

Total respect to you @Wingboy (and to any other member who is in a similar situation) for sharing some of your stories with us over the years with us here online. You may know some of the members personally and some are total strangers which commands even more respect.
I can only imagine how hard grieving is as I haven't been in a similar situation. Reality is, we are going going to go through it to some degree at some point.

Enjoy your getaway.
