Where you guys buy your gear?

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

Try Cortech Injector (I think that's the name) gloves for street gloves. Cheap but pretty good quality, I have two pairs in their second season. Run about $30ish on offer usually from interweb sites MSRP is a lot more. Also look at Teknic gear, usually a little cheaper than other brands but again quality seems pretty good. Boots online for your size might actually be a good bet as you have a size that may be a last pair etc and they generally like to blow those out at cheap cheap prices. If you use US addresses to deliver to you could also get free shipping and returns if need be. I use the UPS store in Ogdensburg NY for my deliveries but in the GTA there's good options too that someone noted above.

Edit: I also bought a great pair of gloves from Simon at Topenz on this forum too. Lasted me forever and really good price. Not sure if he still has them, I got a seamstress to fix a tiny seam as I love them so much.

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

Thanks for the heads up on that too!

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

petesuperbikes has some pretty competitive pricing on Arai helmets, namely the Corsair V

and of course for tires he can't be beat

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

anyone in the area carry shark helmets? I'd like to try one on as well.
I know Pannon lists them online. (is there no more retail store)? I'm assuming?
Again, I don't want to order anything without first knowing how they fit.

Since you are looking for gear, i'll throw my 2 cents in as I have a new never worn top of the line pair of Nexo Cobra (m) gloves I want to sell PM me if interested.

Many of the Canadian online sites will actually match and in many cases beat the US sites, as an example I got a jacket from CanadasMotorcycle for approx. 60$ less than offered on US sites.
Shop carefully and take all costs into consideration when comparing, cheap is not always best either.

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

Does anyone know if GP (or any other shops around here) carry this jacket?

Thanks but i'd need at least a large pair of gloves. And yes I plan on shopping around, i've been doing so already, but it still comes down to being able to try on what you want to buy first. Thats my dilema right now.

Oh... I must of missed it. Thanks boss

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

I've bought all of my gear from Motorcyclegear.com (formerly New Enough), and have never had any issues. I just picked up a new jacket and riding pants yesterday from them. I had it shipped to CBI in Niagara Falls. That's what I will be doing with all of my purchases from now on, as most of the online stores offer free shipping within the US, and it only costs $5.95 for each package delivered to CBI.

Once it warms up a bit, I'm thinking of ordering some soft saddle bags and maybe a tank bag. I will drive the bike down, strap it on and drive back home.:headbang:

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

Was at GP Bike today - have to say, they are way better than Royal. I have spent thousands at Royal, and I find their customer experience incredibly frustrating. More issues than I care to recount.

But the experience at GP Bikes was great. Loved the showroom, all their gear displays, and tons of staff. I found a real expert in my bike and gear and in short order I found everything. And they offered to ship it to my house for free (I bought $1000 worth of stuff, so I don't expect they do it for small orders).

Great shop and they are really interested in getting you the stuff you're after.

Really? When I was at Royal in Guelph I had all 4 of the young female staff attempting to help me find a leather jacket that fit. They were friendly and fantastic even when we didn't find one.

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

So I was at Royal Distributing today. Picked up a new helmet, gloves and then went to GP bikes and picked up some boots. The guy at GP Bikes was very helpful. His name was Tom. I picked up some matching gloves to the Joe Rocket helmet.

What do u guys think?? It's the RKT-1000

i wouldnt wear any plastic-shelled (thermo alloy etc) helmet.

OP, if it's DOT approved, wear it with confidence.

That definitely makes me feel better about my purchase. Thanks.
I do like the look and color of the helmet a lot. So didn't really want to return it for another.

Re: Where you guys buy your gears?

www.motomummy.com
- hands down the best prices and customer service website out there. I've been shopping with them for years. They charge $15 shipping to Canada. I usually go with my rule of thumb of: if I can save more than $75 after taxes and shipping, I will buy from US. I recently got a full carbon LeoVince exhaust system for $715 with shipping. Retail price is between $1250-1400 before tax. I got dinged $30 for customs fees.

Pete from Petes-superbike is also a very competitively priced Canadia site. I dealt with him often when I lived in Montreal - great customer service and you can't beat his tire prices.
