I have no idea. I'm not even personally sure if telling the commission to pound salt was a good idea or not. There are clear issues with the process and I can see advantages and disadvantages to testifying or avoiding like the plague.

He has been doing french lessons on our dime IIRC. It was one of the attacks on him previously that he was spending so much money trying to learn french while being premier of ontario. A french debate between Douggie and JT would be a slaughter. He may get to passable.

Ah well my buddy working for the Feds has this benefit as well. Even better he didn't have to do his regular work while he was being trained...he didn't mention that party until 6 months later...
First we elect the “officials “ , then they promptly hire consultants to tell them how to do the job they just got. We they get it wrong we convene a committee to hold an inquiry to figure out how the right answer was wrong . And we hire more consultants to address the committee and offer professional opinion. And everybody gets paid .
The only thing Dougie's done right is push through the downtown relief line, otherwise he's been pretty much stepping on his own d*ck.
Now we wait to see how much of a boondoggle that turns into.
