Want to plug my tire at lunch, but dont have any plugs. Where can i buy those mushroom type ones from?

Really? Ok i was just on there site and didnt see any, but then again im sure they dont have everything on there. Will go at lunch and grab some.
I don't think they sell mushroom plugs, they sell string.
I've heard string is better anyway.

I think the shop carries them if u take a tire in to get done, but i dont think they actually sell them in store.
See thats what i thought as well, but after reading numerous threads, people swear by the mushroom ones! I like the string ones cuz they fill the hole and the inside nicely, like the expansion is nice on them! Maybe I will just go with the string one.

Which crappy tire sells them? I've never seen any of them around here sell mushroom plugs....
How are you planning to take your tire off the rim @ work? Do you have a tire changer? or tire irons/tools/bead beaker...

You really think the string is superior to a mushroom? The mushroom has a conical shape, so if it tries to pull put, it acts like a wedge......the string is a constact section....plus the mushroom has a rubber patch (like a bicycle), so it seals in two ways....
ADVRiders claim that the steel-belts in radial tires slice off the stem of the mushroom plug, so the head of the mushroom plug rolls around the inside of your tire and your tire still leaks.
Neither Centre Mall, or Up Gage & Fennell have any.
Princess Auto does.
Please.....I mean pretty please.......take some pics if this is a mushroom plug fix!!!

You push the head of the mushroom through the hole from the outside.

Exactly! Not a patch, a mushroom plug that you push in just like the regular string plugs!
Well Im in Sauga, so not so close to there! What are they called, I will call the one here and see if they have it? Also... those are the ones that you do from the outside right?

That is a patch/plug, he is talking about just a mushroom plug......
In my experience the patch works best, but for plugs only the string holds up longer....Ive never had one fall out, but the mushroom plugs I have, well actually they fall into the tire, but the result is the same

Thanks for clearing that up! Ok so ya until I get it patched on the inside, I have the regular plugs here at work, im gonna use this for now.
I put these on from the inside.
That looks like a patch plug, not a mushroom plug.
Well, maybe a Portobello Mushroom plug...
String plug works well. Never had one fail.

Just plugged it! Looks good! I have never had any issues with those plugs and they seal up nice and tight, but will just an eye on it!
Cool. Even in the unlikely event of a plug failure, the tire will just leak air very slowly, the plug will not spit out. Contrary to popular belief, motorcycle tires rarely blowout under normal use.
