So as many of you probably know or have heard. I didnt have a great weekend on the little 400.
Friday was great and the bike did over 50 laps and pulled strong and was fantastic to ride.
Saturday came around, and I started the bike for morning practice and after about 3 laps knew something was wrong.
Sure enough, the head gasket let go.
I am taking this as a sign that its time to move on to something else.
The bike is a 1991 Bandit 400 frame, with a 1996 GSX400 motor.
What the bike has/comes with.
-Full Hindle pipe
-K&n filter (retains airbox)
-Bandit 1200 rear shock
-race tech springs and 15w oil
-brand new (only 50ish laps) front brake pads with rebuilt caliper
-Russel steel braided lines
-New wheel bearings front and back
-Gearing is set for Shannonville, but I have mosport and Bogie gearing as well.
- 2 brand new rear sprockets, 1 brand new front (still in bag)
- 1 off CNC case cover (beautiful work)
- Frame sliders
- Converted to GP shift
What else it comes with:
- Spare full motorcycle/parts bike (motor is blown)
-Wheels are straight
- Forks are good
- Caliper in good nic
- spare tank
- spare body work (x2 tail sections, side covers)
- spare head with 16 brand new valves freshly lapped in (work done at Cyclemaster)
- Spare cylinders
- spare bottom end
- spare crank
- spare CDI/Coils/Regulator/wiring harness x2
- 1 Set of rains (pilot road 3s)
- Spare gasket set (including head gaskets) x2
There is essentially 2 full bikes, and 3 motors, with a bunch of extras on top of that.
I am looking at taking a step back from racing for awhile
I was looking at $2300 for EVERYTHING. But if a person from the VRRA is going to race it, then I would let it all go for $2000
