Well all winter long i was debating whether to buy or not to buy a ""naked bike"" i decided to sell the first of my ninjas and i did, finally after that i went for it and bought the FZ8 2012 Anniversary edition. I love the colors and everything about this bike. I am in the process of breaking in the engine. How many owners of the FZ8 are out there?

Cheers

Tnks..funny that you said that because every time i ride the fz8 in my mind it's like i ride a sportbike...lol

that's 1-sexy bike. If I were to cross over to nakeds, that would be the bike of choice for me too.

personally i'd rather get the fz1 but that's just me hahah. It's a good middle weighter for sure. Mind if i ask what's the insurance on it?

I was torn over the winter with doing the same thing step out of a traditional SS and move into the naked. Keep us updated as to how you like the bike!

I LOVE this bike, and I'm hoping to replace my naked SV650 with it, unless I decide I want a SS. It'll be more powerful than my SV with similar geometry, and the smoothness of an inline 4.....mmmmm...

Did you get the Canadian edition one? I remember when they announced it, they said it would come in all Black or Blue with gold rims & Forks... the Blue one looked AMAZING, but now I can't see them anywhere for sale and the Black one is boring in comparison IMO. I think I'll wait until I can find the blue one....

That's my dreambike! I'm definately going to be picking one up in the next 2 years or so...pending on insurance. I'm banking on that 25yr old bracket to give me a good rate. If i can get it under $1800, my next stop would be the Yamaha Dealership. =D

At the dealer when i picked up mine there was also a black one side by side, but the red/white oh man it was a love first sight..lol- i pay for the year full coverage $545 which i can't complain. Be carefull poeple with sportbikes this machine can spank some ***!!!Eheh

VOT?!? $545?!? A/S/L pllzz!! I'd be happy to get double that next year!

I love naked bikes. The FZ8 is definitely on my short list.
I was wanting to upgrade bikes this year, my wife thought that landscaping the front yard was more important. We had a discussion about it...blah, blah, blah....they're laying the sod on Thursday.

Brutal after 5 years of saving my life plans have come together all in one year. Bought a new bike, wife bought a new bike, having a wedding and putting a 800sq addition on our house. Funny thing was my wife wanted to do some landscaping as well then I pointed out the fact the only time we would see it would be when we were pulling in and out of the driveway on the bikes and it would be a waste....she agreed...lol...You my friend need to get better at your negotiation skills.

Wow. Sal thats a good price on insurance ..

If i could get a price like that id ride street again.

I know some people may not believe it but that's the reality, don't forget this is a sport touring bike so it is less compared to a ss. Plus the factor having the same insur company for many years + the age i guess helps too.
Definitely this is the bike to keep for many different reasons- fun to ride- great range of view- very practical
to ride- and very good handling!! The only downside is the front suspension, i mean there is nothing wrong with it, but if you're planning to ride the fz8 like a sportbike which in this case i will , i'm planning to replace the internal springs for a better stiffer suspension, other than that she's perfect!!!;-)

^ What's your location though?

I'm in Barrie, with a full M, and I'm 5 years older than you. I'm on a "standard" bike, thats smaller than yours and I'm paying $300 more LOL. Fkin insurance companies

I currently ride FZ6 (had it converted to naked and back) and I could not wait for FZ8 to arrive. When it finally did - I was super excited and finally today got around to try it during Yamaha Demo days.
Kind of dissapointed - I expected much more. Compared to my FZ6 with LV pipes, K&N filter and PCIII it feels almost the same. Torque and midrange - noticably more but not enought to warrant calling it an upgrade to FZ6.
Verdict - if you have FZ6 and looking to upgrade to another FZ - look for FZ1.
If are looking for FZ6 kind of bike - defintely take a close look at FZ8, great all rounder overall.
