When leaning goes horribly wrong. ;-)

when the guy splatters on someones hood and dies, are people still going to say he has balls and skill? hes just an idiot. simple.
Yes, He has skill regardless of any final outcome.

Is he an idiot for doing it on the street? sure, most of us have, and does it look a lot worse on camera that what really is when you are the one riding? yes it does. regardless the guy has a good control over the motorcycle and that requires skill. Super Sic died while making a mistake, does that mean he had no skill? For my point on skill track or street are the same thing, for stupidity points yes track or street are not the same.

How is he skilled if he doesn't even know the dimensions of his bike in the road space?
There is a difference of knowing or choosing to ignore. It is clear he chooses to go over the lines in order to keep speed up.

Nah they're right. He's a hack who probably beats his mom and steals candy from kids and doesn't lube his chain often enough. The humanity!

He's hardly got the bike leaned over at all. Why do you guys think he has mad skillz?

With any significant lean angle his head or shoulder would be in the guard rail long before his mirror. Whoopeefreakindoo!

If it took him 15 attempts to creep closer to the guard rail until he hit it is that still impressive?

I don't see anything special in that vid.

I ain't falling for it. I've already watched too much of one bad driver video.
If you can't see where he overcorrected into the oncoming lane, and choose to believe that "he meant to do that".
Then go right ahead. Besides he probably gets paid for people watching his videos, and I don't want to encourage him to give up his day job.

These videos look crazy good on my new 6s!

I must be getting old because I'm not at all impressed. I lost count of how many bone head moves he made, I ran out of fingers and toes. Street squids will be shocked and awed.

Any moron can go fast in a straight line.

I still don't see any noteworthy corner speed.

Does a bike even need the moron for that?

So may corners he runs wide on and how many times does he count on the cager going oh chit and hammering on the brakes so the bone-head can get in.
But man we need roads like that here in Ontario.

We are not discussing impressed, we are discussing skill. Did i say he was the most amazing rider ever? now if it makes you feel cool and above others to say this guy has no skill then you win and you are sooo much cooler than me. It's 2016, I am not arguing with people that are just trying to arrogantly make themselves looks better than others by not been "impressed"

Tim there were many turns in that video he was able to manage, so spare me the riding on a straight line comment. He might not be "You" with your perceived riding skills but the guy has skill, and a lot more than MOST riders in this forum. Say what you want

Holly crap, some people need to get over themselves

I guess I'll elaborate.

His riding is careless, stupid and dangerous. Anyone who applies themselves could develop the skill set required to make those videos. Not everyone is careless or stupid enough to make those videos.

I don't think he's carrying a lot of corner speed. I don't mean to imply that he is but I still don't think so cuz I'm so great. I REALLY don't think he's carrying a lot of corner speed. He's a park-n-fly YouTube rockstar.

That's not skill.

Oh cool. I love the picture arguments. :D
Let's see now. If Shania is us, then you would be:

Oh, and as for skill.
You+keep+using+that+word....jpg

Basically, he's doing stuff that drunks and bad drivers do by accident,
and they're sometimes more impressive, what more can I say?

I'm talking specifically of him smashing his mirror on the guardrail on what is barely a curve.

If this was a video of a tractor trailer with the driver using comparably bad judgement, poor use of what skills the driver might actually possess, and a collision on top of it all...there'd be more than a few people calling the driver a reckless unskilled idiot. Including me. And I drive one.

But motorcycles, hey...mad skillz!

There's no way to tell what speed he's supposed to be holding or lean angle he should have through the corners, to fall within the special category known as "skilled". We don't even know if he's trying all that hard anyways! But none of that matters. None of that tells us if he's a good or bad rider. You can tell a rider is skilled when (s)he is 1- smooth and 2- controlled. That's all.

Those two attributes are put the test increasingly at higher speeds, where weaknesses become exposed. It's not the speed itself that tells us about a rider's skillful, it's what it reveals about their smoothness and control. In this case, the rider maintained smoothness and control even at speeds that were greater than many of us would achieve is the road were closed to traffic.

Was the mirror strike a demonstration of lack of control? Well I'm sure he didn't intend to do it, but I also don't believe preserving his mirror was on his mind when he went into the corner. He meant to straighten the corner as much as possible, and he did. Actually come to think of it I smashed my left car mirror against a pylon on the highway some 20 years ago. That would qualify as bad driving because I failed at my goal which was actually to squeeze by cleanly, I wasn't aiming for some ultimate speed through a corner.

So yeah, I still say the guy has skill. Maybe not SOAR championship level skill, or maybe so. But enough that his idiocy shouldn't be allowed to cloud people's judgement about his level of skill.

What I'm saying is that anyone that has a bit of skill and little care for their well being can ride like that. I'm not at all impressed and don't think that he has a lot of skillz. Is he more skilled then your average rider? Sure.

And I'm over myself.
