The car I am driving now is not the car I would pick BUT it is still nice plus the deal I got on it was INSANE.
It makes no sense financially to sell it. It is very smooth, cofy, fully loaded, and super reliable, cheap to maintain.
I am very surprised that it goes pretty good and a minor mod makes it corner much better.
But I have a powerful scooter so cars are just bad weather day vehicles.
back to the Jeeps, where were we on the rust factor.
They seem to have fixed a lot of the rust issues and they are no where close to the problems of a decade ago. The gas mileage is pretty awful but not really any worse than my F150 was so I'm calling it a wash. I'll keep it three years here then export it to the cottage in Arizona where it will be pretty handy given the terrain around where we live.
There is a OLD miata , and an equally OLD Boxster there that will move on, the batteries are dead and tires flat everytime in get there.
Wife does LOVE the new jeep, it was gone to work with her when I got up this morning. She has a 328 Xdrive and its blue also so she must have taken the jeep by mistake.

I had a J-10 the full size Jeep pickup that is now very rare to see, nieghbor had the two wheel drive comanche, it was a particularily bad truck with a lot of reliability challenges.
The J-10 had a 360 Ford block with GMDelco electrics, Carter carb, Fuller transmission, Eaton transfer cases and Spicer axles. It was like AMC was just taking everybodies overstock and building products. Never buy a truck designed in Wisconson.

So I don't see an answer to my question? have you driven a jeep? because ******** on a car that you have no experience makes for a weak argument. Even more with youtube videos, i can show you someone making a very slow lap with the fastest motorcycle out there, put the most capable machine on the hands of a bad driver like that guy in the jeep and the person will fail, but you would know that any jeep driver that has any experience will not get stuck on that little snow if you had ever driven one. .

No you dont need to drive a Jeep to understand different AWD system and which one is superior. Ask your fellow Jeep owners about BLD if you still dont understand. ( infact use my Acura video as preference)

Drove one for 8 years. Those things would take a beating. I'd get another, but you have to go to the south west to find a decent one now.
