What rifle should I buy?

Oh I know. I thought I was scraping the bottom of the barrel when I said Mossy 500 but
THIS IS GTAM!
So it has to cost .12 cents, use spent shells that eject new ones and come with a blowjob to be recommended here.

And dem blowjobs better come from supermodels goshdarnit!

As stated by others you don't have to be a member of a club to get your rPAL, BUT you need to be a member of a officially recognized club to get a club level LATT (Long Term Authorization to Transport) for any restricted firearms.

There was a recent court ruling that the CFO lost, so technically they are supposed to start giving them out without club membership. The court ruling is very recent, weeks old, so we'll see how it'll play out and if they will have to be reported for contempt of court, but yeah, for now, it's a good idea to be a member of a club before requesting an LTATT.

Kellen: Norinco HP9.

Norinco does some guns well, like the 1911 and the AR, and does some guns poorly. HP9 is one that has a pisspoor reputation.

Interesting - all the reviews I have read have been generally positive. Can you point me to some of the negative reviews?

Mostly guys at the range but I've come across complaints on CGN too. This is coming from people who have used it for a while, not some magazine reviewers. Typically, it's FTF, firing when chambered, an overly large number of lemons, mag follower and spring not being solvent-friendly and you don't save that much cash. I'll take a pass.

Actually, you're thinking of the Norinco 780...that thing is a death trap and people cant give them away...The HP9 is a direct copy of the 870, in fact, everything from an 870 bolts up to the HP9. The HP9 is sold under the Norinco and Dominion Arms name but manufactured in the same plant. A lot of people are saying that the HP9 has better build quality than the latest gen of the Remington express.

anywho, i own an 870 i bought from LeBaron. It was the 3 barrel combo, 28" for trap, 20" with sights and a rifled barrel for slugs. Planning to purchase a 12.5", just cant decide should i go with the regular pump or the magazine fed.

The 780 is a different story and TOTAL crap. There are some decent 870's out there but a lot of it is hit and miss and there are just too many lemons out there for comfort.

Where do you guys shoot? Do you go all the way to Silverdale or do you spend the $700 a year to shoot at Target?

I almost forgot that I no longer live in a rural area and I no longer know the owners of a few gravel pits that I could shoot in anytime.

They just go to the Eaton Center (too soon?)

Lets go gtam gun shopping:) Its winter so that means back to the range for me. Looking for a .22 riffle so I can use it in the indoor ranges too.

If you want a fun plinker, Mk II for accuracy, 10/22 or 597 if you wanna have semi-auto fun. I got a Mk II G with a 4-12-40 scope - a heck of a lot more accurate than I am :D

Silverdale, although i've gone up north a few times to crown land.

Target is crap, cant shoot anything but 22 and shotgun from long rifle....

I like that Mk II G, always wanted a bolt action rifle for my first rifle:)

The cheapest I've found'em was at Le Baron, especially if you join their club and get the 10% discount. Also good pricing on Bushnell Banner scopes. Best accuracy for the buck. One word of advice: Adjust the trigger first and then sight in the rifle

Cool, I'll check Le Baron out.

The Ruger 10/22 is a great, reliable plinking semi auto .22LR cal rifle. You can get a legal 200 rd drum mag for it too :P

It's a great plinker, but out of the box it can't beat the Mk II in the accuracy department and Raf was lookin' for a bolt-action.

in case she changes her mind :P

Mark 2 WITH a scope. I bought one, came out to be 224 taxes and shipping in. Its not the accutrigger model but the stock trigger can be modified for lighter pull. It also comes with the heavier barrel, not the bull but its also not the pencil barrel either.

It shoots 1 MOA nooo problemo at 50yards, at a 100 yards it gets a bit iffy, but 3" groups no problemo...Funny enough my 597 VTR with the bull barrel shoots just as good. They both wear 3x9x40 scopes. My Marlin XS7 in 223 wears a 6x24 scope and it will shoot 1/3 MOA at 100 yards...

My .22lr is a Marlin xt22 varmint. I paid $250ish, not disappointed in any way. Two stage trigger, heavy barrel... very accurate so far

I like the Monte Carlo stock on the Mk II G as it gives a better cheek weld. I didn't know F didn't come with accutrigger.
