What is a reasonable amount of time between new bike purchase and pick up?

The problem with this scenario is that your great price evaporates due to the extra insurance and financing costs prior to taking possession.
Having owned many sports cars I would never purchase a vehicle this way.
This is a win win for the dealer only.
Just wait.....there will always be another car or bike deal.

Not debating that(although I know a few that would) - I'm just explaining that it is, in fact, legal to start payments on a vehicle you haven't yet picked up.

It sounds like this dealer is as slimy as they come, and I hope they get what's coming to them, but if the OP did sign all the "delivery paperwork" he may not have a leg to stand on if he contacts OMVIC.

DanM44: If you haven't, PM me and I'll help you resolve this quickly.

Sent you a PM, but nothing is coming up in my sent folder... Not sure if it's working or not.

I bought my bike from Kahuna, from Sergio. It was in a crate "all the way in the back". I picked it up assembled 4 days later

I bought a Ninja 300 from Kahuna last May and I think it took just over a week from the day I bought it until I picked it up. I had originally asked them to deliver it to my house in Markham but they wanted $200 for that so I picked it up.

Sergio. One of two Kahuna's that made my decision to go somewhere else easy.

He was trying to sucker my gf into a trade on her Suzuki 250... She couldn't give that thing away and he was trying to convince her of a trade-in value of $2k if she was willing to put a deposit down that day.

My friend also finalized full cash payment and insurance, and will be entering his 3rd week of wait this week, at Kahuna.

Unless you're ordering something they don't have and the wait is out of their control anything over a week is unacceptable. Busy season or not.

I'm so glad I found this website and thread. I wish I found it sooner. I bought and paid for a 300 in February. Suppose to be delivered just over two weeks ago. The night it was to be delivered I got a phone call telling me they found a nick in the rear tire and needed to be replaced. I said great, so see you in two days? After no communication from Chris at kahuna I started calling. Was told tire was coming from kawasaki, might take awhile. After another week I got ****** off and called again. Told the same ****. I called kawasaki and they confirmed tire was in stock, ships same day and nothing had been ordered yet for my bike.

Further the nice lady at kawasaki asked why kahuna had registered my bike for warranty on March 20. I have no clue. All I know is they have my money, my bike (which is now fixed only because of me) salesman won't return emails or calls. Bike was suppose to be delivered, now he says come get it.

Unfortunately for kahuna I don't give a rats *** about 6 grand and I have a really nice lawyer on speed dial who there going to meet if I don't have my bike delivered by Monday.

How is this place in business?

Well updates always help...whats the point of secrecy when it comes to dealers or retailers?

The day after he PM'd me the dealer contacted him saying it was ready.

It looks like Kahuna is having the majority their clients sign for delivery before the bikes even get delivered. I'd avoid these guys like the plague.
