What did you do to your track/race bike today

Fired her up today for the first time since last fall. Sweet sound, oh, my ears melted! Also a fellow GTAMer gave me a gas tank, which I'll spraybomb shortly and install. Today was a good day!

Glad it fired up!!! Always nervous after storage, but soooo sweet to hear her sing again :)

Before/after pics of the tank ;)

I'll make pics, okay.

Yeah, prior to firing her up I was kinda nervous too, and it didn't go without hiccups either: I turned the key, flipped the switch, the fuel pump soundly did its thing, then I press the button---nothing! I press again---nothing! Checked cables, poked around her for 10 minutes---try again, nothing! Cold sweat on my forehead....then I remembered I need to pull the clutch... Facepalm!

Even in neutral? Is your neutral indicator broken?

-Jamie M.

Indicator is fine. But need to pull the clutch to start, neutral or not. After starting, I can let go of the clutch. Love the smell of running bike!!!!
Never heard of that, freaky!

Did some more spraying with Tremclad today. Also took the bike around the block, my new still unbedded Ferodo XRAC / Accossato cylinder / Spiegler steel lines combo upgrade rocks, I feel like I can endo with my little finger, lol :)

Here are some pictures of before/after the paint of the gas tank, as well as my other masterpieces. Paint on the pictures actually looks much much better than it is in real life, I'll probably win the crappiest paintjob at the track award this season! I don't care, don't care about the runoff of paint in so many places, maybe this will make me even more brave at the track, who knows :)

Looks damn great!!! Needs more stickers ;)

I got the GP Shift adapter for my bike, still no idea on how to set up a QS sensor on it. Should be a little freaky!

It actually looks very bad in person. But yeah, numbers and couple of GSX-R stickers will make it a bit prettier for sure!

I've been debating whether to reverse my shifting too, it's quite easy on my bike (can be done in 2 minutes), but I think I'll stick with standard for now.

Once you go reverse you'll never go back. After I rode Jodi Christie's bike the feeling of just SMASHING it DOWN through the gears was awesome! I was hooked :)

Sweet that it's so easy on your bike!!! My 08 R6 was like that, just flip the knuckle, damn 07 R1 the rod runs through the frame :(

Give it a flip and give her a go if it's so easy!!!!

I don't like reverse shift on the street so much, my GSX-R was set up that way for practice and... yeah.

Both my track bikes are reverse, I don't have an issue separating the two environs and being able to hammer down a power shift with the bike leaned way over to the left has proven useful lots of times.

Got my tank back from Ken (kneedragger88 )
and painted the rest of my bodywork

Nice Paint Job Xtina

Today was a day from Hell but got a lot of stuff done

Thanks to Dave from Competition Cycle
And JayV for dragging my bike around and help out.

Put Front slick tire and switched rim
Put rear slick tire on black wheel
Sent 2 rear wheels to be powercoated black because general opinion is that Yellow wheels are for girls
New front and rear sprokets - Switched my gearing to 15 -47 for Grand Bend and second cush drive hub to 15 - 45 for Mosport
Put in new Gold D.I.D 520 ERV3 chain

Thanks. And shoulda gone with a yellow front rim ;)

Hey, do you guys paint the bodywork from the inside too?

Also, do I need some kind of mesh-guard at the lower body (right behind the front tire)?
