What did you do to your track/race bike today

Yea 6RR - I think 1 scrap mark is way better than 2 dents and 100 scratches.

I'll take it, just let me know what you want from it. Thanks Tim

Ok will do.

Lemme see what sprockets I have available. Tank is green BTW. Will send pics.

Installed the new brake reservoir and ladybird

Yesterday I leaned against mine while trying to reach my toolbox. I also kicked the belly pan out of my way.

I took my 10R off the front stand because I needed the front stand to take apart a ZX6RR. When I finished I put it back up on the stand.

Leave the zx6rr on the stand and sell me the wheels :)

I had to manufacture a few brackets for things (front fender sides, right side fairings, etc) in the last week, and was cutting and grinding and working hard with scraps of sheet metal I had in the basement. Then yesterday I was at the CT, discovered they have sheet metal with pre-drilled little squares and the corners of the squares cut off----great stuff to have laying around, can make any kind of bracket by just cutting the squares in the shape you want. So now I made a perfect angled bracket for the left side bottom fairing that attaches the fairing right behind the side stand. ...maybe this didn't deserve so much typing, did it

There is nothing left to leave on stands. I might have some wheels for you tho.
you gots my email, i have spares but I want more price depending

What a wonderful thread...and it's dead. Nobody does nothing anymore to their track bikes, they must be shiny and ready, huh?

Well, I did something at least..after making this bracket the other day, I installed it today. I guess that's enough work on the bike for a week's time?

Freaky! Looks good. Take her past 200kph and see how she holds yet?

Doing some work tomorrow on it - I have been lazy

Are you implying my bracket is weak and not worthy for a 200kph run? How dare you!!! ;)

Actually, there isn't much pressure there, no moving parts, nothing, it will be just fine, all it needs to do is to reduce the body vibrations, that's all.

What kind of bodywork is that?
Shouldn't it mount right up without the bracket?

Wasn't sure how much you weakened it by cutting out a spot for your kickstand ;)

Squidskin, and everything fits perfectly. Don't know about this space that needed a bracket, but it seems quite alright to me, nothing looks odd.

EDIT: I remembered---when we cut the opening for the side stand, we had to cut it out. Otherwise it would have mounted just fine.

It's plenty strong, won't move anywhere. As far as I know, it's not even absolutely required, though without something holding it in place, the flex would be probably too much under constant brake/accel/bumps. It's good and strong now.

Oh, about the kickstand---apparently racers remove the kickstand (a.k.a. extra weight) altogether and don't need to cut the body. But I'm a one-man-team, kickstand is very much needed. I just tie it up at the track with a cable tie.

I have a bracket on my bike in the same spot too, it doesn't hold much but adds a bit of support so the belly pan doesn't flex. Get a front wheel chock or get good at using a rear stand and ditch the kick stand.

+1 I was terrified to ditch mine until it almost fell off from vibrations on the track -_- It's off full time now and I'm getting really good at moving that biatch around without one.

I'm good at using the rear stand, and that is what I do all day long at the track, don't need help or anything. But just moving the bike around in the garage, preparing to load, unload, etc...I can only imagine situations, in which I'm swearing like a mofo that I forgot the rear stand a few steps away out of arm's reach..

Get one of these and put it close to the location your bike is going to end up, then put it under the wheel nut and let the bike rest on it
