Might see you there if I can convince some friends to go. Which class will you be in?I`ll be riding Shannonville on the Thursday.Bodywork is in the bath tub, Hubster none too impressed. C'mon Mmmmosport, can't wait til Friday. Giddy the F up!
Thought I would get my bikes ready for hopefully Friday at GBM. So I cleaned carbs. No fun btw.
I then wrestled with my exhaust for a while and still didn't get it to fit right, I think it was installed with the wrong parts originally.
So I still have to drain coolant, somehow fix that damn exhaust and change gear box oil. Then fingers crossed they will run, weather will be good and I can go to GBM on Friday
Of course they still might not run after I do all that. I did get two strokes so that I can learn more about motorcycle maintenance A gas and go bike might have been easier lol.
Had a set of jolly moto on my rs 250 years ago, I remember it being a pain to install/remove/replace all the time too. Great exhaust though. Man I miss the smell of 2stroke in the morning.
DownUnder,
Can you take a look at this thread I posted in the Apriliaforum and see if you can shed some light as to my exhaust situation since you are familiar with the Jolly Motos
http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?306490-Jolly-Moto-installation-issues
Any insight would be helpful.
My set didnt have that many pieces, it was just the collar and a gasket. Did you buy the exhaust new? . Maybe is for the older model rs250 (94'ish era). Though even then it would still give you the same issues.
Sorry I couldnt be more help, Id probably have the flange welded to the collar if all else fails, or does it tighten up on the exhaust and not let it back out?
http://sealmate.net/This thread is for 2014. Time to retire? If not then... cleaned it and noticed that both fork seals are weeping after the weekend racing. *sigh*
Came with the bike. I think someone just rigged it to work with what they had. There is no way to tighten it up on the exhaust that I can find. Thanks for the input not sure what I will do. The exhaust took some beating in its previous life, I might just retire it anyway. Doesn't help me for this weekend though.
Repainted.
After:
Graphics to come- I am going for this '93 european endurance look:
How did you fix the exhaust collar issue? Did you steal from the back up bike?Alright got the bike without the exhaust issue running. Going to try and get to GBM on Friday I just need to get the day off first and hope from warmer weather then they are predicting.
And a pic of it running, outside of course it smokes the place up in a hurry otherwise ...
I live in the country on a gravel road so I was only able to run it up and down my driveway a bit but seems to be running ok.
I know what you paid for the blue one, and I hate you for it. I'll stop by a say hello on Friday.
