What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

Looks awesome :) Where do I get me a set of those bearings for my OEM 07 R1 wheels?

I went with Bearing Tech they offered me different grease or oil options and low or no drag seal options, and best of all lifetime warranty. Pretty impressed my front wheel with a tire and rotors but no calipers spun for 8min before stopping, obviously a lot more drag with calipers on but gives you an idea of the drag loss in the bearing alone...

JP what are those bearings worth? I need new bearings for one of my set of R6 wheels. They have that stupid extra roller bearing in the rear

My wheels use 2 bearings in the front 3 in the rear. Package deal for all 5 bearings was $320. It depends on your bearing sizes but that's a general idea of cost. I don't know about the stupid Yamaha roller bearing though, they normally stock ball bearings not sure if they will have a ceramic roller in that size in stock.

So all balls it is then, lol

What did you think ceramic bearings where going to be cheap? LOL

And besides alls balls is made in China crap, your much better off going to an industrial bearing supplier and getting real good Japanease or European bearings like NSK, NTN, FAG, etc....People love alls balls because they make bike specific kits that are easy to buy, you can get way better bearings for cheaper if you just read the sizes off your OEM bearings and order them from a bearing supplier...I would never put a made in China bearing in my bike or any of my machines are work, Ive learnt the hard way in the past

Haha no, but I didn't think they would be THAT much more. Just too much when I'm outfitting three sets of wheels.

Yes will be just catalogue ordering by bearing number

Thats the best you can get OEM quality or better for cheaper then a dealer and or alls balls

So, where is everybody mounting their lap timers? I have one that came with the bike when I bought it and never got around to actually using it.

I would like to have it just to track my progress. That being said, I don't want it to be in my view. Just something to look at when the session/day is done.

Any suggestions?

I think something is missing.

Bazzaz QC stuff has been sent back to Cali for testing/replacement.

Forks and shock are with Condor for refresh. I noticed a leaking fork seal at the last SOAR round, a bit sooner than I would have thought but new OEM seals and wipers going in with new oil. Also have the the Woodraft brake lever removed to install the Dion device. While the forks were out I took the opportunity to switch the Attack triple clamp inserts from #2 to #4 (moving forks 2mm inboard).

On your upper triple clamp?

New shoes and sprockets mounted up, and installed a QS for poops and giggles.

Looks like a little spring cleaning was in order... in 2011.

Ever have so many things do to that you just decide to take a nap?

That's what riding old junk is like. Lol
