What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

If you want blingy aluminum nuts for your sprockets buy the ones with the nylon locker in them (lightech) and use blue locktite. That way you don't have this issue again.

Parking lot stoppies won't heat up your brakes anywhere near operating temps which is why you didn't notice much of a difference. Lift the rear tire at 230km/h, that should help.

Sweet, thanks for the info. Purrrrdy axel nut too! Sign me up :D

It's the first time I've ever ever had confidence inspiring brakes on this bike (my old ones used to shudder real bad when you squeezed em hard) so it'll still take me a while to brake later and harder. It was easy to do going slow in the parking lot, but like you said, at 230km/h it takes slightly bigger balls.

If you use the xrac pads with those rotors they don't take much to get heat in them and perform at their capabilities much quicker and easier. They're harder on the rotors and take a very gentle touch when trail braking though.

Both nuts (sprocket/axle) are from lightech. I haven't had any issues with them on my Gsxr, which came equipped with them, in 2 season so I had no hesitation putting them on my new bike.

Yeah, I saw the xrac pads, good reviews except high rotor wear. For the price of these rotors I wanted them to last a while so I went with the Ferodo CP1's. They seem to work amazing, better than anything I've used before, so even though there's probably better, I think these will suit me just fine for now.

Thanks again for the info, I asked Tony at Bluestreak if he can get me the lightech goodies. I hope my stud isn't bent :(

Make sure the stud itself didn't back out. Its happened before.

Today I fired up my track bike to make sure it still runs before next weekend. Also fired up the generated and tested my warmers after the long winter. All good to go.

^ obviously not a good application for blingy aluminum bits!

They look like Driven brand sprocket nuts, I have used them many times with no problems.....That being said I tighten them properly, and I also use locktite on almost everything.....Either way there is nothing wrong with using high grade aluminum nuts for a sprocket if tightened properly...

I've been waiting to replace my genny. I thought I may have grenaded it last night after a tune up. The cord retracted around the shift and not around guide wheel. Made one godawful squeal and I got excited about a new Honda.

For a second. Then took it apart and realized how easy the fix will be.

Stupid CT genny - why won't you just die???

Oh and realized P6 day is Monday, and not Mon/Tues like it is in my schedule. Anyone doing the DOCC day Sunday?

@kneedragger88

Ken got the bodywork and frame sliders installed on my bike. Thanks man!

I had to go there and check it out! I also installed the M4 Slip on and mirror block off (GoPro Ready adapter).

Not sure what's with everyone blowing up ECU's this spring! I'll have to stock back up :(
There is some guy in Durhamn that is flashing people's ECU's, maybe it is his fault ;) you might know him, since you ride the same bike and live in the same area

I'll be riding Monday (first day on the overhauled bike so I'll be a backmarker in the morning sessions). Might go up Sunday afternoon to visit a few people if I have time.

Rode the bike around the neighbourhood and it's working well. Just have to bleed the brakes and it's ready to ride.

I have changed everything up too, really gonna be like a new bike. No fair - I was planning on being the back marker on Monday!

It's gone for suspension, if I can get all the body work mounted and everything else pinned up on time I think I may try and squeeze in on the ducati day on Sunday.

Can't frigging wait! White bike w blue and green decals, #420.
