What did you do in your garage today..?

Thanks @ReSTored for the recommendation. Sent the email above and had a call by 5pm from PA Corporate.

They apologized and said they’ll give me the refund next time I come in.

He said that they could easily find it since I had the date, and item was not a commonly sold item. They don’t keep the credit card record following purchase for security reasons.

So I’ll get my full refund after all.

Nice that they offered to make it right even with customer who gives them hard time ( loosing receipt and providing phone number to duct cleaning folks, but not to well established Canadian company)
Always great experience at Mississauga location - got full refund for air compressor that stopped working after 8 years. No questions asked. But I kept the receipt.

Still tinkering with the sidecar alignment. It's perfect under 60, but above 60 it still pulls to the right and that's where i spend a lot of time. There are limits to how far you can adjust the toe-in. I'm not going to buy the "IMZ-Ural" alignment tools ($$$) so i found a pair of used 8' florescent tubes (thanks @Scuba Steve ) and bungeed them to the wheels. Looks like i can add about 8 or 10mm to the toe-in. Which will allow me to return the lean-out back to 2° instead of 3.5°
Garage time is fun.
Here's a Ural how to video that i found fun.

You have her in your sights. I think i have brought out the naughty in her. This summer when we pass golf courses, she gives me the slow down signal and then YELLS FORE as we pass the people trying to concentrate on thier putt or t shot. Love her.

I’m re-finding my interest in woodworking. Blew the cobwebs off my bandsaw last week, lathe this week.

Figured out the VFD today, installed it and is works like a charm! No more swapping belt positions, the variable speed on the VFD is nice.

Now I have to future out the programming to use the tach and reverse functions.

Probably more fun as a hobby than an occupation. It's satisfying building other peoples designs as it pushes you to build things outside your comfort zone, I still enjoy making things for myself even after many decades in the business.

It’s just a hobby. I’ll make some old school kids toys, stuff for my wife’s craft biz, and some bowl turning. No cabinets or furniture, parted with all my big tools when moved west years ago.

Is it a rubber hose? The orig hose for my comp was not rubber and was loath to straighten out. Turfed that for a rubber hose that I no longer have to fight with.

His new hose is awesome. They have various brand names but they stay flexible, don't kink, etc.. I have rubber hose on the hose reels but for loose hose, I like the stuff he bought.

It looks the same as my mine except for colour and like you say flexible without kinking.

The old hose was pvc/plastic. It was a pain to stretch it out to do anything with some distance further away from the compressor.
Lately I've had a slow leak on the rear tire of my car. So I drive up to garage and walk out with line, but it always resists because it's coiled.
Yesterday it just broke when I did that.
Good riddance!

Not all today but over the last week, two pairs of skiis (not mine) brought back from sadness to happiness. Today, scraped the storage wax off four sets of skiis before I took the kids out for some sliding.

Good work on the skiies @GreyGhost. My cousin use to do his own sharpen & wax at home. Said it made a huge difference then haven't it done on a machine. I dunno just did my at the ski shop each year.
The biggest upside is frequency. Depending on edge angles you pick (also something that dropping them off at a shop complicates), they can start to go away after an hour or less. I'd go broke paying at that frequency. Buying all the stuff wasn't cheap (and there are still some tools I will add over time) but cheaper in the long run. On my fun skiis, I sharpen them (diamonds only) every time I get home and wax about every other time (depends how they look). Skiis I use when out with kids get sharpened every other time or so. Wife and kids get a touchup every few weeks (older kid more often as they are starting to get good and really lean on the edges). I normally only need to file skiis once or twice a year.

Many years ago, I was skiing at Blue and the edge was going away. Dropped the skis off at the shop and they said that they were sharper coming in than they normally are going out. Wtf. Get someone better to do them then. Coincidentially, I had a jacket that matched that years staff jacket. I picked up the skiis, they'd done a great job and I got billed the staff rate which was pretty cheap. I was confused until I figured out the jacket situation.

I guess I was to tough on my compressor hose. I never liked the coiled line anyway. Off to PA
Yes it's a Crappy Tire compressor and line, just good enough for tires.

Nothing wrong with CT compressors. I have the slightly bigger Mastercraft one on wheels and it’s been great for 12+ years. Good looking hose and that’s convinced me to get rid of the crappy pvc one on mine before it breaks.

I'm OK with CT tools in general.

My Maximum 15 gal compressor was purchased on sale about 5 years ago for $250 or $300, Still works fine. My Mastercraft 5 gal cottage compressor I've had for 15 - 20 years, still good. The 15 gal one I purchased was not the newer "quiet" model. It's very loud IMO.

Same time I got this hose reel. $99 on sale. Broke, replaced on warranty.

Had to find a few nuts and bolts that would fit the Givi rear rack frame. So got that buttoned down on the Scrambler and doesn’t look half bad with the tail case on.
