What did you do in your garage today..?

I replaced a spring once, years ago. Never again! I had one spring break last week. Carwal came and clamped it as a temp fix. Guy came yesterday and replaced both. Took him 1/2 hour.

Any recommendations for a fixer for garage door issues?

I used a guy out of brampton at the old house. Spring would break and the only way in or out of the garage was through the overhead door. I didn't want to get in there and realize I was missing a part and stuck in the garage. I can't remember his name, I think it started with mo. IIRC @Joe Bass used him. He hasn't moved afaik so he may have the sticker in his garage with contact info.

I'll be home around 4
I'll post a pic
I should have it, unless the guys who installed my new garage door last spring covered it up

I replaced a broken bottom bracket on one side of the door, spring tension already gone. I used two 3/8 extensions to rewind the spring to 7 1/2 winds to match the other side. Huge PITA. When a spring broke a few years later I used "Dan the Man" to replace both springs. Once this was done he then said he was going to check the rollers and I thought this is where I get screwed over.......... He checked them all, replaced 3 or 4 at no additional cost. I'd use him again, no doubt.

They say torsion springs have a 10,000 cycle life so mine are probably due, but who replaces these types of things proactively vs. when they break. My door weighs about 250 lb, so if one spring breaks I have lifted 125 lb without any issue, if 2 break then I'm toast as I can't deadlift 250 lb.

I hooked up my vacuum and mitre saw to a dust collection switch

Now the vacuum turns on when I use the saw and keeps running a few seconds after the saw stops. The only issue I've found with it so far is it's only good for one tool and one vacuum. I'll need to add a small power bar to the "tool power" portion so I can use my table saw and mitre saw in conjuction with the vacuum

I want to get one of those fancy bolt sizer things Home Depot has.

I came across this but it's a tad pricey:

Would something like this be sufficient? I know it may not work too well for nuts

You can get the second one free from most industrial suppliers. Not really needed use a caliper and pitch gauge and you are done.

The second one tells you size but not thread so it's only half the information you need. I use calipers and pitch gauges.

Started taking the bike apart to get to the valves and spark plugs.

Only 2 broken clips so far and I can’t take the RH side off. But the tank coming off was annoying as eff…
