What are you currently playing?

I used to play World of Tanks a lot, I think I just got tired of it. Some of the foulest people on the planet would pollute the chat there, I don't know if that's changed much.

Most recent game I played was Prodeus, a stylized "DOOM clone". Fun! But kinda simple and short. I've been looking for something new to play, but nothing is really catching my eye

For PC I think you have a lot of new settings for the chat, but I agree and it is why I do not play on PC anymore.
For console & WOT: Blitz, no chat so a lot less toxic.
My favorite one is WOT:Blitz you can play on mobile, PC, switch and it is very easy to get into and no toxic people to deal with at all..

Anyone remember this game?

When I was a kid, I wanted this game so badly:

This was before I started motorcycling and breaking things.

Now, I no longer have any desire to "play" the operation game...

I have yet to play an online game. Actually have resisted getting PS Plus for that reason.

BIL wants to race against one another so I may bite the bullet for $70/year though. Never had an urge to play with others.

Just a heads-up - I have never paid full price for PS Plus ever. Either bought codes online from resellers, or it was on sale from Sony itself.

It may or may not be worth it to you to spring for PS Plus Extra - there are a few racing titles in the included catalogue. They just removed Ride 4, but Assetto Corsa Competizione is in there. And some Isle of Man game I've never played, a couple of arcade titles, etc

Nice! Good to know thanks!

Went to a local cool game store with my 20yo son that sells new and classic games and consoles. Was wild seeing intellivision/Atari 2600/colecovision/nes/sega consoles.

So I forgot the finer points behind "a lot" - joined a fun clan, and we did well enough in the first clan wars that I got the M60 tank. Also got the t-shirt they gave out for getting a tier X tank by a certain date. The Chieftain came out to the HMCS Haida at least once, I met him there - his character in person is pretty much the same as it is on screen.

It's possible you might care, so I had to update you on it in case at least one person on the planet is impressed by these accomplishments

That's awesome - When I played on PC I was in a few clans, some better than others but always a few standout's that made it a very enjoyable time.
Now I play 99% on the switch (connected to my TV) and I really enjoy it, I play 100% solo no clans (except the one I made for myself) no platoons, just playing and having fun. The switch version also always has great weekend sales from 1-5 bucks and they always provide useful materials but are not necessary. Lastly I picked up this controller for my Switch and I could not be happier with it. High quality, great feel and responsive controls.

Finished up Dying Light, good game, lots of fund hacking Zombies and bad people. Not sure what's next need to check backlog on Steam.

I’ve never had a decent enough PC to game properly on it. Currently on an older Surface Pro 3 so that ain’t gonna run anything proper.

Actually I can’t remember when I last had a PC…mid 2000s maybe.

Never been into gaming either. PC or console.
Well that's not true. I did have a Pegasus game console, back in 1993 in Poland. Had a cartridge with 100 games in 1 plus a few other separate cartridges.

When I got my first PC in 1996ish my game of choice was CarmaGeddon, GTA and Worms. But my gaming phase was short and I never cared to play any other games.

Now, my son has an XBOX and all he plays is Flight simulator and some racing game and NHL at times. Mind you that stupid Roblox game is a different story....:mad:

Just saw this thread. I got a Meta Quest 2 a while back when they were cheap (even made a burner Bookface account to use it), and fell in love with VR for simulator games on my PC. The ones I've been playing most lately include:

- MS Flight Simulator: Crazy tech to give occasionally mind-bending representations of the real world. Flying over my house in Hamilton is surreal in how much it looks like the real thing. Brutal on PC resources, though, and needs a top-tier GPU. I spent a packet on a good one, and it still sweats pretty hard with the settings turned up.
- DCS: Depends on the modules you get, but just starting up and taking off in an A-10 is a trip. Landing on a carrier deck or in-flight refueling are also major achievements. Haven't even gotten to the actual air combat yet, still fun if you like systems.
- IL-2: WW2 flight combat. Not as nerdy and rivet county as DCS, but runs smoother and is more pure fun. Dogfights over Normandy in VR are crazy, night bombing in a Mosquito while searchlights flash around is even crazier.
- Assetto Corsa and AC Competizione: racing in VR is so much cooler than on a monitor. Being able to look through corners and having some sense of depth and speed make it so much fun. Also gives a better sense of vertical changes on tracks, and turns like the corkscrew really take on added feel. This one is super realistic, but doesn't offer much 'game'.
- Project Cars III: less sim but more game than the above. Better graphics, too.
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator: these are the weird ones. If you described them to me, I'd think you were nuts for playing. But there is something incredibly zen about picking up a load in Romania and delivering it to Portugal while managing traffic, fuel, rest stops, etc. Put on a radio station from whatever country you're in and watch the scenery roll by. This is definitely one for unwinding.

I picked up a budget Logitech wheel and pedals for the driving games and have a better Thrustmaster HOTAS system for the flight games. Need to get a cockpit if some kind, though, as attaching and detaching from my desk is a constant headache...

Carramgeddon, such a fun game back in the day. Many enjoyable times playing with friends. The updated versions we just ok, nostalgia doesn't always transcend.

I am so addicted to Zwift right now (my first winter with proper equipment and subscription), to the point my quads are so sore it hurts walking on stairs..

Interesting that Wiki describes it as a "Zwift is a massively multiplayer online game" so it classifies for this thread I suppose
I'd consider it a "healthy" addiction :)

I have looked at Zwift a little. The start up cost seems pretty high.

What equipment are you using?

You'd need a TV/Computer with WiFi/Bluetooth to watch your avatar/worlds, you need a bike (usually Road bike but some ppl use their mountbikes) and you need a Turbo Trainer (the best option as it controls resistance emulating elevation) or power meter on your bike, subscription for Zwift (20bucks/mnth)
I did have my bike (I use my AL Gravel Cannondale Topstone) and I only had to buy Turbo - I have Saris H3 - MSRP 1300ish, usually on sale for 900-1000 but last summer discounts went all the way down to 500 as this particular company had financial issues with cash flow..

Generally this "Game" is not cheap, but if you are already a cyclist - it's a must IMO

I was looking at the Wahoo bike.... it's cheaper to by a decent bike and trainer.

I may pick up a speed sensor so I can use my dumb trainer to try it out.

Just thought I'd mention a game that I really enjoyed is being given away for free right now on Epic Game Store - Duskers. You can maybe think of it roughly as a spookier version of FTL... Definitely won't be to everyone's taste, but it definitely was to mine.
