Weekend Warrior (Downtown Toronto)

I think I'm out for this season. I had a horrific crash with a pickup truck up north in cottage country. Tried to pass 3 or 4 cars when the passing lane markings allowed for it, but didn't compute that 3rd or 4th car was going to turn a left. Happened too fast, braking didn't help. Bike totalled. Got thrown forward a bit. Was able to stand up by myself after, but the pain didn't kick in until the adrenaline wore off. Protective gear and denim jeans protected me from serious road rash. But one of my knees took a serious hit, and it's still in recovery.

Still assessing whether I want to keep motorbiking. If I did, it would be great to join a support network where bikers confess to their "sins" on the road. I know I liked it when I first did 120 on Hwy400, but I could've kept myself extra safe and taken one of the side roads.

That tanks bro - suck that it happened, however great that you were wearing gear when it did.

where about do you guys go downtown!? newbie friendly pace?

The meet is at king's circle downtown U of T. The ride itself varies from leader to leader but its usually around Toronto, and yes it can be a newbie friendly pace, just make sure you mention it to the leader and other riders.

Oh snap guy!
We'll miss you for sure. I hope you can recover well and get back in it. Stay in touch and hope to see you around again.
