We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

I'm banking on the CSFA passing...don't wanna have to pay to join a club JUST for a LTATT

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

I haven't read too much into the CSFA but it sounds like its a really good thing for most of us. Hopefully it passes and makes things easier

I went to Urban Tactical last Friday, and they told me I should come back on Saturday, they were having pretty damn good sale prices on ammo. They had 1320 round crates of Romanian 7.62x39 for $189.99 + tax, 9mm CCI Blazer brass 115 gr 350rds for $89.99 or my favorite and what I went back for was Federal 5.56 120rds can for 59.99! Thats $15 a can cheaper then my range or Al Flathertys so I bought 7 LOL. Not to mention free hot dogs, burgers, and pop, giveaways, raffle, and other big discounts on other items. Was a pretty good event, really really hot inside the range but I had a great time, spent almost the whole day there.

There was 2 young boys with their father's shooting and at the end of their session they both shot the 50BMG, that got me going! I had to shoot that pig, so I coughed up $50 for 3 rounds. And man was that thing a blast, only 50 feet distance but I manged to put all 3 rnds in the same hole basically, shooting with my left shoulder because the optic was too low for me to use my right shoulder. Shot 2 I had to ask the guy if I missed or if I put it in the same hole LOL.....You only live once I think everyone should try that rocket launcher of a rifle at least once in their life time

I really wish it was closer, I like the place and the staff and would go there much more often if it wasnt such a killer drive

I was actually thinking of getting my PAL soon (with restricted too, because, why not). Anyone have a recommended course location around the Toronto region (east end preferred, but wherever is fine).

I found some from the fseso site, one at Toronto Tactical Products, but I thought I'd ask, just to check. Maybe find somewhere less busy.

Hey gents! So I've had my PAL for a few years now, still don't own a gun or even shot one in that time. Any recommendations for a range near the GTA where I can use their guns etc?

I got all registered for my course. Got the last spot on the course. Now I just have to read the huge books.

The written is all common sense, you'd have to try in order to fail. You'd have to try really hard.

Yeah, the guy doing the bookings mentioned they have never had anyone fail it. I'm just reading it because I don't know enough about certain types of actions. Worth the quick brush-up. Also I'm hoping they cover some regulations and such, and all the restricted info I need.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Not sure where you're taking it, but hopefully they give you plenty of time practicing with the various actions. You should know them inside out by the end, don't worry

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Doing it at Tactical Products Canada (mentioned it earlier). They likely will, I'd just like to be prepared for it ahead of time.

Besides, after a long day riding, reading for a bit isn't such a bad thing :p

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Just got my PAL/RPAL in the mail!

Any suggestions for a first handgun to buy?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Desert Eagle in .50

Nope, shoot one at the range but dont bother buying it.

First gun, If I did it all again id get a polymer 9mm glock, sig, springfield, s&w etc. they are generally cheap, easy to clean and get familiar with. Try them all at the range buy the one that feels best to you. Then a 1911 .45

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Tupperware crap! DE all the way.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

As much as a .50 Desert Eagle would be fun, maybe a 9mm would be better for someone just getting into shooting ;)

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

.22 LR target pistol.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

9mm also has advantage of cheaper ammo so more practice and range time for less. .22 target pistol I personally wouldn't bother with, feels like shooting a bb gun.
