We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

My friend. They are locked in a cabinet, and then locked in a secured gun room! I am, infact, exceeding all storage rules!
just sayin' ;)

:eek:ccasion5::eek:ccasion5::eek:ccasion5:

I am happy........

Enough confiscation has been going on, don't need to give them more reasons......

Have a buddy in Hamilton, lost all his guns a few years back because of intimidation by the police, I wish I had known him then I would have made sure he didn't lose anything....

.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

correct....

we just don't know if the cabinet is lockable or not.....and if not ammo should not be in there....

.

BTW, don't worry so much about how other people store their f**king tools of their trade. Understand? We get enough ******** from the Federal government. This is a forum to relax. Cheers.

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Can we all be friends again? Let's see some more of your toys. I seem to be posting the most pics? :)

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Is this Canada specific or any military force ie; USA/Australia/British etc?

Any serving, released, veteran of any commonwealth/NATO alliance force is welcome in my books! Ok mate? :)

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

11 fd Regt, RCA (Hamilton, Guelph)
Maritime Surface and Sub-surface Officer (Halifax)

Out now. Good times. Good memories.

I've often told friends on the cusp of release that the good times in the military make for good stories, and the bad times make for funny stories.

3 years British Columbia Regiment (DCO), Vancouver
11 years Royal Canadian Dragoons, Petawawa

No worries.
Nice 45. I am a wheel gun man myself.
I am focusing on antiques as of late... got an unissued M98, '49 SKS in correct stock, 4 other mint SKS's in non-refurbished condition, 1 "shooter" SKS, a Swiss 1882, and a few others.
However, most of my "tools" are hunting and target oriented.

Truer words have never been spoken!

This bad boy is an antique and happens to be the most accurate pistol, new or old, that I've ever fired...

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Just curious...how do people lose their firearms due to improper storage? Unless the cops are in your house for some other crime investigation, how would they even know if you kept a loaded shotgun under your bed?

The RCMP has been known to do random spot checks. In the interest of safety and responsibility, I wouldn't even entertain the thought of leaving a loaded shotgun under any bed! Most, if not all, contributors in this thread are responsible, law-abiding gun owners.

Of course not! I was just using that as an example.

I didn't realize the RCMP could come into your home and check your guns

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

They (RCMP) cannot do random checks.......they must make an appointment, and the regular cops cannot come and ask to see your firearms at all...now if you let them in, well then you let them in......and who knows what they will look at and so on......

From what I understand, the RCMP can come to your door in response to a "complaint" of improper storage or based on suspicion of improper storage. Yes, you can tell them to buzz off, but they may threaten to do a "full blown investigation". It's in your best interest to allow them to check or things could get unnecessarily complicated. In the end, if they want to check for whatever reason, they will find a way.

You are correct, they need to:
--make an appointment, or
--show-up with a warrant, or
--they may show-up in response to a complaint, etc. (as noted above)

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot?

Um no ^^ its NEVER in your best interest to let a cop into your house.

This is for Firearm Collectors

Firearm Collectors

Fact Sheet

If you are thinking about collecting firearms, here is some information you need to know about how the Firearms Act and its supporting regulations affect you. The information in this fact sheet does not apply to firearms that meet the definition of an antique firearm as set out in the Criminal Code and Criminal Code Regulations.

Inspections

The Firearms Act allows for periodic inspections of firearms collections. The main purpose of inspections is to ensure that all firearms in a collection can be accounted for and that the firearms are stored safely, as set out in the Storage, Display and Transportation of Firearms and Other Weapons by Individuals Regulations.

When inspecting a firearm collection in a residence, inspectors may only inspect parts of a residence where they can reasonably expect to find firearms and records of a firearms collection. They must give reasonable notice and obtain your consent or a warrant before they carry out the inspection.
