We are still here...

I dunno why you're laughing at "preppers"....in the end, he has supplies that he will use anyways...Hate to tell you this but "prepping" is called "living" everywhere else in the world. Its only in the "live for the moment" North american society that having food for a few months is seen as "whacko"

The "rest of the world" has real problems. These preppers make up their problems. Yotube doom and gloom videos don't equate to bombs falling on your house. These guys go way beyond being ready for a natural disaster. Food, water and gear to live a few days off the grid makes sense. Booking a room in an apocalypse proof bunker is nuts.

So, you're only a prepper if you are preparing for the end of the world? I guess the preppers that are preparing for the end of the world wont touch their supplies if a snow storm takes out the power and disturbs the food supply network? LOL

The reason you see preppers coming from USA is because you are exposed to US media, hence why thats all you hear about. The other reason is that in the first world country such as USA the average person is so far removed from self sufficiency. Think of the prepper movement as a push back to that. How can you think that having certain generic preps that encompass all natural disaster preparations among other things as something we need to ridicule?

yes they are different, reasonable disaster prep is completly different than stockpiling ammunition and building bunkers.

So lets focus on the "fringe" of the prepper movement, the 1% of preppers who go to the extremes and with that label ALL preppers as nuts? And then you guys get ****** off when cagers prejudice against cruisers as being gang members and sport bike riders as squids who just wanna do wheelies and blast down the highway.
So when is a prepper a prepper and when is he a normal joe blow getting ready for the natural disaster? Whats the cut-off? 6 months worth of food? a year? 100 rounds of ammo? 1K? 10K? Who are you to decide when has someone gone overboard?

In the end...guess what? Their money to waste. Some blow it on gambling, some blow it on fancy cars, others choose to invest it in something that may or may not come in handy. I for the love of me dont see what the allure of going to Vegas and blowing couple grand gambling but i sure as hell wont judge someone who decides thats how they want to spend their money.

Wanna buy a $600 Iphone or latest gadget every few months? knock yourself out. Want to buy an overpriced condo the size of sardine can? Again, not my place to judge....

I've only ever heard the term "preppers" in relation to those fringe people who plan for outlandish disaster scenarios. I figure it probably doesn't apply to the other folk because they aren't defined by their emergency planning, since it's on a much smaller scale and founded on reasonable concerns.

Of course anybody can do what they want, but of course I will judge people for their irrationality just like I do for BLUE KAWI, or theists, or the Donald, or...
