Waving--Can we put this topic to rest!

I think we need a poll: subject, Should we wave at dino or synthetic oil when wearing/ not wearing gear with loud pipes?

I saw a guy today and he didn't wave, had no gear on, his pipes were annoyingly loud, I think he used synthetic oil, and was pulling out of a Boston Pizza.....

and he might have also had a t-shirt on that said "I'm OUT!"...

Damn these threads are entertaining.

Oh Gawd a frigging ebiker waved at me yesterday. I think the wave back is the middle finger?

The proper wave to an e-biker is to raise your beer.

Just kidding. But so many of them are DUI that I had to say that.

I always try to wave, unless I'm preoccupied using the throttle and clutch, then I give a nod

My wife and I were driving with our mountain bikes on the roof. We passes a bicyclist and he waved.I was shocked.

Sometimes when I go for a ride up Weston Rd. north of Rutherford there are usually large groups of Cyclists. Occasionally they wave and I'll wave back. Sometimes I give a nod when passing them going in the opposite direction.

I wave at fellow-cagers when cagin' it

We might be able to put it to rest, if you'll just start waving at me when I go by :(.

I prefer the nod, keeps my hand on the clutch where it should be. Plus it's cooler. I've noticed scooter riders haven't seemed to pick up on this culture trend yet... they'll get there ;)

After doing my M1 exit at the RTI downtown, I had to wait over 2months to get my first bike. In that gap of not riding, I certainly didn't forget how to ride, but I was very unsure about riding a motorcycle in traffic when I hit the ignition on my first bike ever. I was on Bathurst, near Lawrence, on rush hour.
I never got to experience the traffic, and never cruised over 30km/hr at RTI. You can figure all the bad thoughts crossing my mind after I joined the traffic, riding in 6th gear at around 60km/hr.
It was so fast, I was flying. I was certainly not happy. I was scared and feeling not safe. With all the pedestrians and cagers starring at me (later I figured, they are just starring at the bike lol), I was thinking there has to be something wrong.

........until another rider spotted me from the oncoming traffic. As I was looking at him (never seen a wave before lolz) dude waved and gave me a smile !!!!!!! Man, wasn't that a sign like from jesus christ ! At that point, I interpreted the wave as he was telling me 'right on, you're doing ok'. And all the bad thoughts vanished then =) It was quite a moment there for me, and that wave meant tons. Perhaps saved me from an accident, because, thinking about it now, I don't know how much further I could go in that state of mind before the wave.

I am riding since June now, and I wave to everybody. Maybe it is the other rider's first ride, in need of a little support.

Great post!
