there should be a single multilanguage signal for pointing out an approaching radar, too bad there isn't (that I knwo of at least)

any ideas???

I thought tapping your helmet was the signal.
Is there a specific spot you are suppose to tap you helmet?

Step 1 - Put arms in air
Step 2 - wave them around like you just don't care
Repeat as necessary

:confused:didn´t know there was such a thing as online gilles de la tourette syndrom???

**** *** **** ******* *** you **** ****! ********* your mother! ****

are you talking about the Team America secret signal? This could work better than tapping your helmet

On a nice day when everyone is out..I stop waving. Seems like you're waving at everyone every minute to the weekend warriors. As someone earlier, on a crappier weather day and I see another rider..I will wave.

That's exactly what I'm going to start doing. 'I saw you' thread here I come!!!

I wave at everybody.
Personally I don't care what you ride.
Hell I've even waved at farmers working in the field and you know what.....they always wave back.
I wave in Daytona...after awhile you might as well drive around with 2 fingers in the air.
I have even waved on The Dragon....even at the guys coming towards me that have crossed the line in my lane.

If someone is sitting at a light.... I pull up beside them.
I don't give a **** what you are riding.... if there's room I will pull up.
And I have no problem starting a conversation while waiting for the light to change.
A simple "hows it going" is all.
I have never had a problem with it.

If someone is having a problem on the side of the road I will pull over to help.
Don't care about the weather or if I'm in a hurry....I'll help if i can

Not everyone is going to wave back and that don't bother me none.
Not everyone is going to need help and that's cool too.

Don't know why there are sooooo many threads about this but hey :wave::wave:

Good post..
although any oncoming drifted into my lane only gets one of the two fingers.

I too pull up beside someone at a light, give a nod. Compliment their exhaust sound if i like it...that sorta thing.
I always let them leave first and indicate so if they wait on me momentarily.

I high five as many as I can get close to it really freaks them out .

who has little kids wave at them?? I love the look of awe and mystery in their face...even little babies in a stroller pay no attention to their surroundings but sometimes at the crosswalk they'll intently stare at you the whole way across. I wonder if they think its a scary guy like Darth Vader or a cool Power Ranger...babies don't know much but even they know a nice bike when they see one, just wonder what goes on in their head

Depends really on their look...probably "damn mommy, aren't you finished shopping yet?? I'm a bin sittin' in **** for 2 hours already"..

Sometimes I feel like I'm a zoo animal when sitting at a light. I always try to give a wave if they are old enough to know what's happening and seem fascinated, in hopes the parents think a little higher of bikers and let 'em ride when they're older :D

A few weeks ago I was riding home through a residential street and I see 4-5 kids playing and as soon as they saw me get closer they all dropped what they were doing and gave me the"V" waive. I waived back and they were all so happy. They were all laughing and hi-fiving each other.
Ahh it was a great moment. That really made my day. I smiled all the way home!
