I wish you a great day too (not being sarcastic).
FWIW, I have less patience than I used to for small minded comments like Mr Low-Self-Esteem-S1000RR type poster ragging on scooter riders. Scooter riders have practically all the visceral elements of enjoyment and risk as any other 2 wheeler.
I say practically, because about the only one missing is not being able to accelerate aggressively out of corners or do roll-on wheelies. Few other bikes can do roll-on wheelies anyway.
The point is, the days of making fun of scooter riders is so yesterday and I stepped up to point it out.

I know someone who races, has a number of bikes, some are exotic race-ready, and also has a scooter which he rides more often than the others due to a physical disability that has made getting on a normal bike difficult. When Mr. Low-Self-Esteem-S1000RR waves at this guy on his scooter, wishing he could take it back, he has no idea that this guy could clean his clock even on the scooter.

damn... someone is having a ****** day! See the humor in it dude. Don't be jerk on a forum because you have a disabled friend, I am sorry to hear that but my comment has totally nothing to do with him , it's just humor from a sportbike rider making jokes about scooters, let me have me fun. Now save your energy writing the next hatefull comment because I really don't care. Don't take everything so serious life's too short for that. have a nice day...

ps: this is the only reaction I write to you so chill ok. Don't worry about my self esteem that's my problem if that is too low.

I think the waive is a big part of riding. Since i'm a new rider, it's made me feel welcomed in this group. Watching riders pass by nodding or waiving gives that sense of togetherness. Like being part of a special group. Makes riding special... at least to me. When you see a group of riders at a timmy's and you pull it, it's an instant friendship. You can talk and shoot the **** like buddies even thought it might have been the first time you met.

Makes the riding experience even better!

well said... totally agree, I haven't been riding that long but experienced the same. Although it's usually sport bike riders amongst each other having that connection, makes riding more pleasant that it already is.

ok, ya I missed the humour. It did cross my mind as a possibility though. (you realize I didn't have to admit that)
Anyway, hate is sort of a strong word..I didn't think I portrayed hate. You suggested to me to not take things so seriously..well to interpret what I said as hate I'd say you were doing the same a little, so we're both a bit uptight today I guess.

But it's old news now and I already indicated that I decided to take a stand and point out that degrading scooters isn't cool anymore. In my mind it never was but I'm fairly open-minded when it comes to bikes.

Internet and transitional trends take time to run their course I guess. Look how long it's taken cruisers and Harleys to be accepted.

It's funny that someone mentioned the Jeep wave. I have a friend who bought a Jeep back in 1978. I admit I am a bit amazed to learn they are still waving at each other over two decades later, lol. I wonder if Miata owners wave at each other?
Anyway, let 'em have their fun. It's innocent enough. Hell I waved back to a bicycle twice last year..and I hate about 95% of all bicycle riders. But I draw the line usually if attending the Parry Sound Sportbike Rally or what I imagine Port Dover must be like. It'd be just one big wave. Besides, after some of what I've seen on some of those back roads during the rally, I'd prefer if the oncoming guy would keep both hands on the bars thanks.

anyway..no hate here, not in this thread anyway, cheers..have a good one..you too Little Miss YZF

Waving is so 80's. I only wink at GTAM members through my tinted visor. If they truly are a member of the GTAM they wink back.

Waving at strangers. Gotta love that idea eh Corky?

I'm going to start something.. see if it catches on

Seriously, another waving thread?
A jeep and a bike.........your arm must be tired lol
On the way home tonight I'm going to wave like I'm open in the end zone. Bikes, cars, trucks, people waiting for the bus........I'm just going to wave the whole way home!!

If I can, I wave to most riders. And, if a thread topic is of no interest to me, I ignore it! Some of you people should try that instead of online bullying.

I thought only cruisers waved at cruisers and sports bikes waved at sports bikes. I was surprised when I was out the first time and a bunch of guys on cruisers waved, so now I wave at everyone.

Tempted to even wave when I am in my car, though that would look ridiculous, so I don't :D

I feel this video is again necessary:

I usually wave when going outside the city or the weather is crap. The other day I also tapped my helmet to 2 riders warning them of a cop lying in the median doing radar along a 110 km/h highway where most cars buzz by at 130+. Don't know if they understood it.

there should be a single multilanguage signal for pointing out an approaching radar, too bad there isn't (that I knwo of at least)

any ideas???
