watch repair recommendations?

I love the history and legibility. Plastic crystal is not a good fit for me for a watch that I wear often. I have a vintage GP that I occasionally wear but the crystal needs some love. Polishing a bubble crystal without ruining it isnt trivial.I don’t wear watches or any jewelry. If I WERE to have anything, I’d like to find something simple but with character. You nailed it CC. Last night on AR a retired diver brought in two comex submariners. I didn't catch the subtle difference but one was valued at about 10K and the second along with his old dive logs was about 40K (Brit pounds!!)
Very satisfied. Shane even replaced the glass. Its running good now, and the price was reasonable. Thanks again.

I'm sorry but WTF are you actually getting for 500k....it's a watch...
Probably some tiktok star quiefed in the case. Forged carbon fibre imo will not stand the test of time stylistically. It is basically fancy plastic marketed as platinum. The dial is entirely illegible (like many of RM's watches) so it fails the first test. Even Invicta is normally more legible than RM and they set the bar pretty low.
In all seriousness, there are some mechanical complications in there that aren't trivial but imo, most of RM is brand money (eg. pure luxury/show off as opposed to actually anything better). For 500K, there are many other watches I would rather buy that will be classy forever. The rubber band on that RM will degrade and good luck getting more when they are out of fashion.

The Grand Sonnerie is more but cool. The hilarious part is one of the complications they add is leaping second hands so your seven figure watch can function like a $20 watch. Start looking at DuFour and you are well into mansion prices.

Where's the Tourbillon? For that price, I'd expect one at a minimum.
So I see an automatic watch on line , made in China , some brand I cannot pronounce, kinjianiaok or something. It states tourbillon movement.
It is , it keeps reasonable team , skeleton face so you can see the bridge . It was $70 delivered.

Ten years ago I bought a fake Panerai with a manual movement from China. Bought it to see if I liked the watch enough to buy a real one. I didn't, but damn if that $10 Panerai doesn't still run and keep perfect time.
I have the wanna be Panerai from Australia, mitoyo auto movement in a Panerai style case . I also was not a big enough fan to buy the real one .
I’m looking for a Squale dive watch right now. I bought one at 15 when I got certified for diving 10 yrs later a hack watchrepair guy pooched it. I was too poor to have it done right , was lost in moving .

I purchased a replica Rolex Daytona from a Chinese seller three years ago, to see if I liked it (just like one of the other posters here). The replication of the original movement, dial, case and wrist band are stunningly similar. The watch feels and runs like the real thing, but put me back a very small fraction of the real one (1/25 the cost). I found out that I didn't like the watch after all so not having spent my son's inheritance on the real one is a saving grace. I could probably make back the money I spent on it if I chose to sell it.
Cool addition to the bars of the klr though.
Hadn't thought of that. As it stands though, I don't have much to lose if the current watch quits working after riding in the rain.
Here's a watch I inherited, which I think you guys will like. It was awarded to my father in 1949. Some time later when he crashed his Ariel Square Four, it flew off his wrist and got run over by a car. You can see the road rash on the back. It sat for in a drawer for about 50 years after that, until I had it repaired by an excellent watchmaker in Newmarket.
