Walking Dead (Spoliers)

Re: Walking Dead

In a zombie apocalypse such as walking dead the military should have been able to hold their own, maintain order and do sweeps to kill off the walkers. I just dont see how a properly trained/equipped army couldnt handle zombies once the initial WTF first contact was over.

Yes I know its justa show and zombies dont exist, well braindead people are everywhere but they arent considered zombies.

Bahaha how true that is!

Re: Walking Dead

I'm thinking the opposite. I'm thinking you'd want to engage zombies from as far away as possible. If you're in close range combat, you're probably already dead. All that blood and fluids flying around as you shoot them with a shotgun? Pretty much instant infection.

Some really good body armour / hazmat suit would be a good start, but any close quarter stuff with zombies should be defensive and escape-oriented. That's been my experience, having watched an awful lot of zombie movies. :)

Thats one thing that always bugs me about the Walking Dead. They get so close to the walkers and have zombie guts and fluids splashing all over the place and they don't seem to mind one bit. Like Daryl re-using his dirty crossbow arrows. Its like, do you really want dirty zombie infected sharp objects strapped to your back? I wouldn't.

If you did wear a hazmat suit, would zombies still be able to smell you?? Or would they not know and leave you alone?

Re: Walking Dead

Is there an application form? ;)

We could probably make a "killing" training people for the Zpoc.

Start a Wacko survivalist training facility since it's been more popular than ever as of late.

Even Gerber was cashing in at the Shotshow this year as was nearly every other "respectable" company...

Think that we could get idiots declared zombies? It would make my commute a damned-sight less complicated, If I could just cap 'em.

And think of the benefits to world over-population if there were an idiot cull. That video was quite the compilation.

Think of how superior human genetics would be when all the idiots are dead. Darwin wins!

Re: Walking Dead

back on topic!!

I've started to refer to this show as "talking dead". I am seriously getting sick and tired of constant bickering and BS....and last weekends episode...WTF was that kid thinking? In what right mind do you do what he did. When the show relies on characters stupidity to continue is when i stop watching it.

Re: Walking Dead

Another note on survival gear... Yes, there would be a difference between dealing with fast zombies or slow zombies. With the slow ones, you focus on precision and stealth. By the way, blunt braining instrument FTW like a hammer FTW. With fast zombies, you'd want stopping power and maybe even rapid fire, so you'd rely more on larger calibers and probably heavy blades as opposed to blunt instruments.

Re: Walking Dead

...well Shane is a no brainer since he shouldn't have lived this long anyway.

He should be gone by the end of this season.

And that would make it two out of three, but I somehow suspect that they'll keep him around. It's a cheap tension builder.

I agree. I don't like him, but the amount of 'love him'/'hate him' dialogue I've seen indicates he's compelling from an advertiser/viewer # vantage point.

I thought about that as well. But then most times when blood hits open air any viruses in it become innate. I would still be worried though.

True, viruses do not survive out of the body for more than a few minutes
