victim of Road Rage, hit and run by a coworker, how should I handle this?

So when I get mugged, I should go to the HR department, report the mugging and have them decide whether the matter is worthy of calling the popo? Your super-duper-uber-ultra-extra-special-geniousness along with your extremely high level of proficiency in rocket surgery simply astounds me

Is this forum full of bored cops or something? I can't believe the razzing I am getting for not reporting to this to the police. What's the statue of limitations? 7 years? I report now or six years from now, what's the difference? I am sure this guy knows I complained and he would really have to be stupid to do a repeat.

The longer you wait, the more credibility you lose. That tends to be how it goes, in court.

He was stupid enough to risk his lifestyle and freedom the first time around. Now you're giving him that much credit?

Ok, now youre asking if the forum is full of cops. So you've had a bunch of "bored cops" telling you nuthin but "call the cops" and you still cant figure out why people have issue with you? Perhaps Ive been goin about this the wrong way here, 222-TIPS, call this number and tell them EXACTLY what youve been telling us. No, dont worry about them asking your personal info and then the 911 operator contacting your insurance company and ratting you out, its all anonymous. And when the operator finishes laughing uncontrollably on the other end of the line from your stupidity, call this number 1-800-668-6868, childrens help phone, I guarantee there's somebody there more than qualified to sort you out. When all thats done, swing back here and give us an update.

He has all the witnesses. If I reported it in the moment his passenger would have sided with him and the guy following would have probably done the same. On the surface the police would not know the history as I stated it and would have no way to know this was an intentional act on his part. I got off lucky, a broken piece off of my fender that doesn't really need to be fixed. Many don't agree with my method of complaining to the fire chief, the company HR, and waiting to see what this guy does if anything to warrant an official report to the police. If the guy is that stupid to do a repeat, there is no doubt in my mind charges will be coming his way.

You were assaulted. With motor vehicles. By multiple people.

The next level of interaction could leave you dead.

I'm done.

CABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE

Post the picture already.

Yeah.. I have another account on this forum.. Let's just say that it may or may not begin with the word "turbo"

You guys need to learn when to just swim by that big, juicy hook dangling in front of you.

We have a guy just like this at work. It's a personality defect. Completely unable to apply rationale and reasoning like the majority. Drama inducing, narcissistic, can't even entertain the notion of being wrong. People drawn into the clutches end up being consumed.

There's a reason these guys took a great risk. Frustration, anger, "teach him a lesson". But they never learn. They can't.

If it's one thing I learned over the years it's to stay as far away as possible and severely limit my interaction with these types.

Police won't be involved because he's knee-deep in it as well.

An effective, empowered HR will cut this guy out of the organization like a surgeon excises a tumour.

Yea right, it's kinda hard when we got the Bob Izumi of Internet stooges in here!

I think we're all starting to understand how somoene could be driven to try and commit vehicular manslaughter on OP

Dude, if I ever run into this guy at a meet I may run myself over with my own bike just to avoid this guy asking for advice in person. "Uh, hey dude I got these strange looking warts down there and it hurts when I pee. Doc gave me this lotion, but he don't know what he's talking about. So I called my HR, they recommend I smear it in honey and stick in a beehive. Imma try that when I get home!" I believe I've had my fill of this clown college dropout. For once I'm glad someone was continuously dropped as a child.

That's ok, my bike can take it. It's fallen over, has survived a low side and 10 ft slide, and a dick deliberately backing into it. If you did, I wouldn't be calling the cops. Bare in mind what goes around comes around.

Oh yes, I can certainly see that what goes around comes around.

I could drive over your bike with a bull dozer and leave a twisted pile of scrap metal where your bike was once parked. What would you do about it? Apparently a giant pile of nothing. Perhaps you'll write a sternly worded PM to GTAM Admin, in Times New Roman, interspursed with CAPS LOCK for extra emphasis. Then most likely you will start a thread on here asking what you should do, then ignore all the advice that is offered. Everyone will tell you to call the police. 19 people saw me do it, I left a note saying it was me, and after I crushed it I'd get out and touch every clean surface without gloves to make sure I left some good fingerprints. Only pussies call the cops? And you're no pussy! So I essentially have carte blanche to ****** with you as much as I want knowing you won't do anything about it? That'd be great if I thought you might actually learn something from the ordeal.... but if I were a betting man I'd say that lesson would sail right over your head.

How am I doing so far?

After that you'll start a thread asking if me destroying your bike will affect your insurance if you claim it. You already think it will, so despite everyone telling you it won't you will have already made up your mind and the whole point of the thread was just for some validation... you didn't actually want to know the answer. You'll then spend the next few weeks and dozens of pages in that thread defending your decision and that only pussies put through an insurance claim after a caboose destroys their motorcycle.

Still with me?

Guys, don't give up on this guy. He's learning. He learned the difference between 'moot' and 'mute'. Maybe he'll pick up on our subtle hints. OP, now look up "statute of limitations" vs 'statue of limitations". And call the cops.

Here's the situtation. Incident #1 A few weeks back I passed a number of vehicles including this coworker (guy#1). When I pass, I typically pass how ever many cars then get back into the lane of travel. At this point I was behind this coworker (guy #1). I typically wait to see what the driver in front of me is going to do. If it appears they dropped the ball and are making no move to pass, I will seize the opportunity and pass. This coworker came up to me the next day ranting how I ride in the blind spot, blah blah. Incident #2 I was using my car and I see this coworker (guy #1) behind me with a flashing green light. Yes, I didn't know what the hell it was. I was also travelling at a 100 kph on 80 highway. Pushing the bounds of police tolerance. The next day he ranted on me about not pulling over as if this green light gave him special rights on the road which it does not. Incident #3 (today) he ranted on me about something at the start of the day and I said I didn't know what he was talking about. He ranted how he was going to run me off the road. I said FU and you better make sure I am down as I will be coming for u.

After work guy #1 waited along with this guy #2. Guy #1 cut in front of me and turned out of the company parking lot. After seeing what direction I was going guy #1 did a u turn and followed. I knew he was following and proceded to ride with apprehension and caution. At some point guy #1 passed me and I became boxed in by guy #1 and guy #2. Guy #2 drove close and was tailgating. Guy #1 drove in an erratic manner, speeding up and slowing down. At one point he gestured me to pull over, naturally I refused. We came up to a stop sign, he was stopped and I came behind Guy #1. While stopped Guy #1 deliberately backed up, seeing this I used my feet to roll back. It came to a point I could not roll back as Guy #2 was behind me. Guy #1 kept reversing and crashed into my bike and damaged my fender. Afterward he drove off: a hit and run situation. After getting through the intersection of stop signs, I pulled over to inspect the damage done to my bike. Guy #2 drove on by. Aside from a piece broken off my fender my bike is ok. Eventually, I caught up to Guy #2 and he attempted to do a fake right to bait me into passing him. I am not sure what his intentions were.

At the very least I have to report this to the company HR.
I want my fender fixed and these guys need to be held to account.

What would you do?

something tells me that by your opening statement "1 A few weeks back I passed a number of vehicles including this coworker (guy#1). When I pass, I typically pass how ever many cars then get back into the lane of travel. has bill 203 written all over this.... maybe We should do you a Favor or Us all a favour and contact Your local police and give them the heads up that some Crazy rider is passing not one but how ever many cars in this area.... Just thinking about your safety Op...... ;)

I have a bulldozer for rent.

This is the point that I had issue with how you handled things. Your primary excuse was that you have no witnesses because they were all on his side so you did not go to the police to report the vehicular assault but elected to report to your HR department about the threats, assault, and then gossip to spread the word and defame him to your colleagues at work. Neither of these paths [go to police, go to HR] do you have any witnesses. NONE.

You asked the nice people here for advice, you got it, then decided to ignore everyone and go ''HEY YO, EYE GOT DIS NUCCAAAAA'', cried to HR with a baseless report and came back to proudly report MISSHION COMPRETED.

Right. The guys are going to feel like outcasts at work and then quit. HR will make them quit. They won't lie to HR because HR is so great. They will lie to the police though because everyone lies to them without any repercussions.

Hey guys, it's lunch-time...mmmmmm.....failburger
