Using the 407 for free

I got a ticket many years ago on the 407, I blocked the plate with my foot, wasn't too comfortable but it seemed to work just fine except there was an OPP behind me. "Evading a toll hwy" or something to that effect. I did it again exiting and wasn't billed.

Pffft... What are you people riding, 250s? You're supposed to fly past the cameras too fast for them to pick up anything but a blur.

When I had a bike on the back of the pick up truck I made sure to take off the plate off the bike (a bunch of round trip back and forth + bikes plate had a stock location)....some of you obviosly forget that, but their system looks for any plate that passes through those gates. Of course the truck doesn't get billed if the tail is open. My bike's plate is way under, so it works like a charm.
We get screwed as it is by many laws and charges, so I seriosly don't mind "scamming" this system a little.
 
If you have a plate tucked under the tail like me, then its very easy to reach down and cover a portion of the plate.... just have a quick look around before you do it... simple really!
 
Best thing to do is bring a photocopy machine to the police parking lot, photocopy a few plates. Tape a sheet to the bike and ride through. Remove after exiting.

Photocopies? That's so 1998. We have technology now.

the only sure way to avoid the 407 bill is to use a flip/push plate; the problem with this is that if OPP see you do this as you pass through the cameras, you're toast

if you continuously block your plate, but get on the 407 from for example from the 404 at 7AM everyday, and get off at the QEW... it's not rocket science to get the 407 OPP detachment to wait for you at 7AM

i had a close friend who used a push plate on his honda 600 cbr to avoid the 407 bill, and he absolutely gunned it when the cherries went on... at one point he saw all the lanes behind him had a police car... he took an exit and hid behind a building for 6 hours... he put the bike for sale the next day, and hasn't hopped a bike since... he's since let his M2 expire

Doesn't look like anyone offered the logical solution...take the 401 it's free!
 
i had somewhat creative idea that would work for both cars and bikes. Order a stupid custom plate with a random combination of E's and F's. Why? Because the upper portion of these letters are identical. Next, place a license plate frame so high that the bottom of the E's are cut off and all look like F's. Sure, your plate will read FFFFF for bikes or FFFFFFFF for cars however 407 will never be able to figure out what it actually is because there are simply far too many combinations. Now, OPP may be a problem if they pick up on it...

You cant. The MTO wont allow a plate that has identical digits on a plate ie 1 or I or 0 or O.

Why has no one mentioned just pulling over, taking off your plate, pull over again and put it back on...
Its two bolts and takes about 20 seconds, just make sure no popo is rolling up behind you. Its a little annoying if you plan on going everyday buts its fine if its a once in a while thing...
 
Tape on a printed forgery you made from word over your real plate. Everybody loves a practical joke so just use a friends plate number.
 
Or make your own plate. Have it say JIHAD.

Dress in a Harley enthusiast outfit, 2 bandanas is good, so that they know you're serious business and not to mess with you.
