even plates that are deep under the tail get billed; others like me with completely stock position plates it's a hit and miss for billing
the only sure way to avoid the 407 bill is to use a flip/push plate; the problem with this is that if OPP see you do this as you pass through the cameras, you're toast
if you continuously block your plate, but get on the 407 from for example from the 404 at 7AM everyday, and get off at the QEW... it's not rocket science to get the 407 OPP detachment to wait for you at 7AM
i had a close friend who used a push plate on his honda 600 cbr to avoid the 407 bill, and he absolutely gunned it when the cherries went on... at one point he saw all the lanes behind him had a police car... he took an exit and hid behind a building for 6 hours... he put the bike for sale the next day, and hasn't hopped a bike since... he's since let his M2 expire

moral here, using it legally... you catch a few billing breaks; if you don't want to pay for using the highway, hop on the 401 or hwy 7
