Update re: HACKED

Hopefully some folks learn a lesson from this. Use disposable/spam email accounts for unimportant things such as these types of forums, because your information is far from private, and is easily hackable.

also, i just made 2 posts in threads, went to my profile, clicked on "find latest posts" and they don't show up.
Looks like max is middlemaning somehow, in any case, it's slipperier than a greasy seal. :cool:

this is bulshit, i logged on through my cell to my gmail and it tells me to change my password cause it might have been compromised and gives me a code, so pushed the next bar and it auto takes me to gtam. what a joke. this forum is a long way from being secured and fixed from hackers

Don't be clicking on any email links man!
Always go to the website yourself and sign in, those emails are just phishing attempts to get your new password.
I've had at least 6 fake emails to the address i use here, and i never used to get any before the hack..

agreed Lucky go to gmail com by typing it in you browser and change your password now...if Agava and i read what you said correctly sounds like you got an email from gmail saying you account was hacked..thats probably phishing..

i just changed it, plus im getting so much unusual junk mail now its unbelievable, it used to be the same crap in junk but now its ****ed up
 
Why is it typing "8" will give you an emotion instead of a number?

No junkmail,but subscribed is a blank page for me as well.Annoying.
 
Sorry folks....Had to disable that file while we looked into the hack.

It's back now.

They tried to get in again but could only get to the index.html file this time. We've now found how he got that and hopefully secured that as well.

Unfortunately it's like motorcycle thieves....if they want in...they'll find away. The only way to truly secure the server is to not allow any uploading at all, however that would make for a boring forum.

The best route for personal safety is to do as you've previously mentioned and not use the same emails and passwords for different forums and other websites.
