First time seeing it today - driving in St. Catharines on the 406...

Dark Grey Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab w/cap

Flashing blue and red lights across the grill, headlights flashing and tails light when he passed me

Just weird seeing a regular truck with cop lights?

Also a silver Ford Fusion I saw pull over a car a couple weeks ago, but I've seen Fusion undercovers before so thats not new.

So just a heads up if your riding or driving in St. Catharines.

Local cops (at least in GTA) use pretty much any vehicle right now if you want to get really paranoid. For example, yesterday, I saw a GM minivan (Venture) with those special "undercover" decals, which can only be seen in direct light.

Maybe this has to do with crown Vic's being put to rest by Ford??? 0_0

Impala? That's obvious. Any American mid size car alerts my cop radar. I seen a peel Toyota highlander UC, that surprised me.

Niagara regional seem to have a lot of unmarked cars compared to other municipalities.

Yea, since September, i've only seen about 5 marked cops (2 of which were in a parking lot parked opposite of eachother with 1 space in between them, having a convo. With no other spots to park, I had no other choice but to go inbetween them lolololololol :lmao:) I said sorry for interrupting your convo - he said wasn't anything important and they took off.

These everyday looking cars are called "stealth" cars. But this just took me by surprise because it was a truck.

Barrie has a couple Toyota Tundra's and Sequoia's although detectives and higher ranking officers are primary uses sometimes the traffic division uses them as well.

Halton Police also have a few dark coloured Dodge Caravan unmarked...s(?)

Nah, there's still a ton of Crown Vics available out there. They won't be depleted for some time. Crown Vics are usually used for stealth cruisers more than unmarked anyway. I think it's more that everyone has pretty much realized what vehicles Police use for unmarked cruisers (Impalas, Sebrings, Suburbans, etc.) They're just mixing it up now.

Last summer I was pulled over in Burlington for speeding by a Silver Pontiac Grand Prix. Really wasn't expecting that to be honest. He didn't have radar in the car though...sucker. hehehe

A couple of weeks ago I saw a black Toyota Camry light up the blue and reds in Keswick! Totally blacked out windows too.

Since "upgrade" to Chargers didn't really work, cops are getting new Taurus. Demo one was at Union station for a long time. Saw one in Mississauga about a year ago with serial number '007' too.

Yeah, it's a sweet looking cruiser. As far as I know, Halton is still debating between the Charger Enforcer and Taurus Interceptor. The 2012 Enforcer has been re-jigged a bit inside to better fit old CVP equipment which was originally the main concern.

I snapped these pics of the Charger last year:

they should be restricted to using vehicles made in canada.

If a company wants their Canadian-built car to be chosen by Police departments, they just have to make sure their car has the most appeal.

I'm all for creating jobs in Canada, but protectionism annoys me. It's the reason things are so expensive here.

That said, most are built here, so the odds are in our favour. The Impala, Charger and Edge (the new Ford Interceptor Utility) are already manufactured in Oshawa, Brampton and Oakville.
