TV shows currently watching

Idris Elba I enjoy as an actor and great as a host.

Seems I need to chase this...

and The Bear

Nice to see The Last of US get a nod - enjoyed that.

Finally Lily Gladstone gets some due. (y)

Some of the flash backs to previous winners were excellent.
Being on Netflix allows me to skip some of the annoying bits including the arrivals.

The Bear is one of the best shows ever, imo.
Beef was also excellent - extremely good and creative writing.

Really enjoyed the SAG Awards on Netflix.
All awards show should be done this way.

Idris was good as host - a bit cringe in spots, but decent.

Shogun
Pretty good so far tho the amount of subtitles might put some off.
I enjoyed the book(s) a lot and re-read recently.
Don't know why the picture quality is so soft but other than that very gripping.

.....
Don''t know the story but good reviews.

Disney+ is still a blurry mess on browsers

Discussion
I came back to Disney+ to watch the new season of Loki. I have a nice PC monitor now so I decided to watch it on my PC instead of my TV. I get not even a minute in and it's a blurry mess.
I then go to the internet and find that for the last 3 years, Disney+ on PC has been limited to 720p and apparently, this is to prevent DRM circumvention on higher resolutions. This clearly hasn't worked since this is the release day of Loki season 2, and if you care to check, Disney's limit of 720p has NOT achieved its goal in the slightest.
I pay for what I consume. I'm frustrated that I pay for 4K streaming and I'm limited because Disney for some reason thinks that this limit does anything to actually protect their IP.

Explains a few things

Since Disney throttles the picture to 720P when watching on the computer.
Knew there was a good reason to get FireTV4k.
Not as convenient but at least can get a decent feed for Nat'l Geo etc.

Finished up Silo. It got better and better each episode. Def very different from the book, but good overall and highly recommend.

Still on my free trial of AppleTV...but I may just extend. Liking this 'Masters of the Air' that was recommended by @MacDoc.

Watched Alone Season 7, liked it ( still the best one IMNSHO ), then 6 then 5 which was all that was available on Netflix.
Now switched to SBS on demand which has all the seasons.
Season 1 was an eye opener....North West Vancouver Island...damn...gorgeous but not a place to live or even survive.

Bears wolves and cougars ( highest population anywhere ) which were indeed present and scary, serious wet temperate rain forest, 3m tides, epic Pacific storms days long. Took some serious effort to feed themselves ...can see why the series took off. Must be watched without commercials or you would tear your hair out.
Some very innovative efforts amidst crazy tough conditions 🍿

Now mine has run out :( - discussing with partner on renewal...Aud dollar not kind to those US prices
With your new Air Pods can you not get another 3 month trial?

I was going to cancel my AppleTV subscription after the free trial. But it ended yesterday and for $13/month I think I can handle it, although b/w Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV I'm probably close to $70/month.

i pay for amazon prime 99.9% for the delivery, the TV/movies is just a bonus.

However the rest 🤮

You guys could stream from a laptop or tablet for probably 99% of your content needs as a much cheaper option if you had a half decent TV.
